Woo Well I'm not homeschooled and I can't imagine being! It could be a case of 'don't knock it till you've tried it' but I can't imagine leaving school. I'm in England so it could be different but I get to see my friends everyday, learn with them and get more specialised help from teachers that specifically teach that subject.
I have to say the best thing is learning WITH the teachers! Our Religion and Philsophy teacher is mainly a maths teacher and we are her first and only R&P class so we are learning WITH her although she has a degree in R&P its so much more fun!!
Could you imagine being home/public schooled whichever you are/aren't now?

I was publicly schooled but I my kids, as they got into higher grades, asked me to home school them. Far too much classroom disturbance and pressure to fit in with everyone else. My kids are not sexually active nor aggressive in nature but, this is what they had to face everyday in public school. I pulled them out as they requested and they got interaction with kids their own age through our congregation. Chaperoned cookouts and get togethers was another way for them to get interaction as well. If something is important to a person, which my kids are, they'll find ways to help them adjust to whatever situation arises. There should be no vs. between homeschooling and public schooling as it depends on how well whichever one fills the needs of the person.

As soon as I realized that home-schooling was an option, I did it. And it is better. I didn't learn a thing in public school. I mean, yeah, I can say, "I remember this arbitrary fact from some random class," but I've learned a lot more through my curiosity and investigation.

i hated school i had to get up too early, i had to deal with idiots that had an extremely poor understanding of drugs. i won't even tell you joey sardone's logic on steroids and male enhancement. *shakes head* but these are the people that thought i was the idiot. i had only a handful of friends and the rumor that i was sleeping with all of them. if i knew i could homeschool i would.

I think that it's different for everyone, for some school may be great and for some it may be horrible. It depends on the person.

I was in public school until my mum pulled me out in the 6th grade. Honestly, it was awful. The lessons were bland, the other kids were mean, and the learning environment was... gonk . Homeschool's the best thing that's happened to me so far. I can work at my own pace, I don't need to interact with other people, and I retain more information. My dad set up a study room/science lab/darkroom for me in one of the empty guest rooms. I finish high school next August and then OFF to college. surprised

I don't mind the lessons in School, just the intense atmosphere and the people... I had socializing in reality, and I hate being around a LOT of people.
The only reason I ever became home educated was for my own protection from others, plus I have a fear of people which was also another reason. But if I had the choice to go back to School, I doubt I would, except to do exams.
But it's good to see that people enjoy School, I used to enjoy primary School, but when I went to High School... Darn, I hated it.
