Vampire history is a very contreversal subject that not many agree on, most believe in some legend...Count Dracul, son of Satan is the first vampire...not quite. Vampires are closely related to Vampire bats, even a vampire can not shapeshift into one. It really started out like this.....

Vampire bats really started two legends, the legend of El Chupacabra, and the common demonoid, Vampire. A vampire bat one night fed on a powerful, sleeping demon, with the magic in the blood, the bat changed into a likeness of the demon, with fangs, claws, and red eyes, superior strength and speed, but the bat also kept some of its bat like qualities, extreme sensitivity to sunlight, and dislike of garlic (not fatal). The bats inhereted the demonic weakness to silver, and like most creatures, when head is cut off, or stabbed in heart it dies. With this new creature, it relied on basic instinct, feed and self survival, it fed until it was full which spread the curse, which allowed the newer ones to find out about there weaknesses and not all die out. (example: one sits in shade, one sits in sun, the one in sun burns and dies, while the one in shade learns and avoids sun....same for other weaknesses.) The vampire use there superior powers to spread until vikings, and europeans cross over allowing more room to spread, which leads to the legend of Dracula, and spirals into what forms the vampire society of today...

I admit I must thank him, because without him starting that nonsense I wouldn't have gotten as interested as I did... and My friend Josh wouldn't be as sexy as he is today, he never would have gotten his teeth capped. ^^

Dracula wasn't completely untrue, it has its roots in truth. One of the first european vampires was coincidentally a count, a count named dracula, ironically, and he was cruel, but most legends about him are false. He didn't turn into a bat, he doesnt invite people to his castle just to feed on them. He fed as little as often, so the king doesn't find out and try to kill him. He was very fond of his riches, and not too dumb about. But he wasn't killed by Van Helsing, or a vampire hunter, matter of fact he may still be alive....

Vampires started out, or rather the first vampire started out from a powerful dark wizard trying to reanimate the dead. While doing so, he created a vampire which he could not control.

No reason to delete an opinion, this is just as plausible as any other idea. We are unsure of the origins.
