A Quote a day is a rare forum game in which all participants of a forum throw up a quote about anything. And are allowed to once a day. It can be something funny, something about Communism, Something about Fascism or even something about pudding.

I shall start:

"I have never let my schooling interfere with my education."
- Mark Twain (1835-1910)

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work... I want to achieve it through not dying.

It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence which could support this.

"If you are lonely when you're alone, you're in bad company"
-Jean-Paul Sartre

Not as much funny as great, but still pretty light-hearted.

"You can always trust the Americans to do the right thing, after they have exhausted all the alternatives..."
-Winston Churchill

Although being a conservative and arguing often against Socialism, I've always enjoyed churchill's quotes.

"No, it's a perfect synthesis of life, life is this, we are always looking at others as possible mirrors and we feel betrayed when it doesn't work. "

"People can have the Model T in any color - so long as it's black." - Henry Ford

(I know I already posted one this day, and broke the rule, but I just had to post this one when I found it because otherwise I would've forgotten about it.)

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

"The written word is all that stands between memory and oblivion. Without books as our anchors, we are cast adrift, neither teaching nor learning. They are windows on the past, mirrors on the present, and prisms reflecting all possible futures. Books are lighthouses erected in the dark sea of time." -Jeffrey Robins

"Our planet
is poorly equipped
for delight.
One must snatch
gladness
from the days that are.
In this life
it's not difficult to die.
To make life
is more difficult by far.”

-Vladimir Mayakovsky, my favorite poet of all time, a great testament to Soviet and Russian literature.

"Life is not an easy matter.... You cannot live through it without falling into frustration and cynicism unless you have before you a great idea which raises you above personal misery, above weakness, above all kinds of perfidy and baseness. "
