Okay, there is a book called "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" by Jack Herer. If you wish to make a good argument on the legalization of marijuana READ THIS BOOK!!! Chances are you will have to order it from a borders or something, and the copy you get will be old (at least 10 years). If you try and buy it online, it's going to cost close to a hundred dollars, but retail stores can't charge that much for a book, so you'll probably be able to get it about $25.
I can't really go into the specifics of this book, but I guaruntee you it will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the history of pot and hemp. Also, how the US would be economically set for life if we just grew marijuana as a national crop. Hemp is one of the best sources of pretty much everything for all of time. Most medicines were made of it, all clothes and paper. The original Constitution (the copy before it was signed) was written on hemp paper, as well as American money. The American flag was also made out of hemp, and George Washington grew hemp. There was a time period where it was required by law for most people to grow hemp. It's cheaper, and we can make plastic, paper, and pretty much anything else out of it. Not just that, but it's easier to farm and it lasts longer than any other substance (eg. Chinese ancient writings were done on hemp paper that they made, it's an ancient chinese art. That is why their texts survived longer than any others.)
That's just a little bit of a run down of some of the main points.
I hope you like it!
PM me if you have any questions, I've read the book.
