Kia ora
As the rep from New Zealand I suppose I should really mention the Maori Mythologies.
They can be fun
Maui and his brothers did some cool stuff.
Then there is the Taniwha, I used to think a Taniwha (Tuny fa) lived in this valley down the road to our house. They are sort of like dragons that lurk in water and get people that break Tapu (natural law of sorts)
They also have fairys and ghosts and an underworld and maui used his grannys Jaw bone to fish with.
Maui was sortof like Loki, a real trickster. Funny how they pop up everywhere.
Maori peopel are a very spiritual sort of people, Im not maori im a Pakeha (white), but I grew up with the legends and the words. I dont speak maori... not that many people do. They are a pretty cool people, they used to eat each other until about a hundred or so years ago.
I dont know any good websites but I will find you some good ones later.
(Heh and this is a place where you can say whukapapa on th news. Pronounce "wh" with an f.)

I think I once studied Maui and the Maori creation myth at some point. I remember thinking it was a pretty cool mythology.

Sounds interesting - I'd like to read more about the Maori Mythologies. Can you recommend a good site?
