The moon glides above the trees, pallid and silent in the inky blackness overhead. The road splays across the landscape, rolling with the hills and sinking into valleys all the way to the horizon. It beckons like a lover to those with adventurous hearts and free spirits. Where will it take you?

Welcome to the Gypsy Moon RP. Much like the White Wolf Tavern, there are no set stories or quests. However, this IC social thread is set upon the open roads of Gi, rather than being confined to a single building. There is much more to see, more people to meet, and more chance for adventure when there are no walls to hold you back. And that's just how the Gypsies like it. *** The Rules There are only a few of them, and they are very simple. Anyone who can't abide these paltry tenets has no business participating, much less calling themselves a roleplayer. 1. Follow the Gaia guidelines for content. No exceptions. 2. This is a freeform, in-character social thread. You do not have to make or adhere to any specific story, nor are you required to face off against enemies (or even interact with other players) against your will. However, you ARE required to remain IC at all times. OOC posting is not allowed in this thread in any form, excluding the "Ignore" tag in Rule 3. Any post containing OOC comments will be deleted on sight. An OOC thread has been created in the Jarohian Council forum for that sort of thing. Click Here for the official OOC thread.3. Consent is required for all interaction between characters. This is a fundamental aspect of quality roleplay, and will be expected from everyone. If someone is being a n00b or just generally obnoxious, simply post an OOC tag at the beginning of your next post that says [IGNORING -playername-] and continue on with whatever you were doing beforehand. This is the ONLY time that OOC comments are allowed in this thread. We also recommend that you PM a mod or post a complaint in the "WTF" thread regarding that player's behavior, so that we may take appropriate action. 4. Exercise your creativity. This thread is meant to be highly versatile; you can use it as a fun social arena for your characters, try out a new creation, or hone the skills or personality of a character you already play. Try new things, revamp your style, and don't be afraid to lose now and then. It is only through adversity that we learn how to change. Have fun!

"HOW COULD YOU... HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO YOUR FAMILY!? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS... THIS... THIS SCANDAL!?" his father yelled at him upon hearing his refusal, his younger brother in similar shock, while his mother was as close to the verge of tears as elvenly possible.
Elladan did not smile, yet he did not frown either, when he recalled what happened earlier that day, juuust before the Heir Appointment Ceremony.
He was standing on the balcony of his family's mansion, dressed in his family's robes. His father smiled proudly at him, rested his hands on his shoulders, and told him, "Son, now has come the time for you to step forward and declare yourself the rightful heir to the House of Eärfalas."
Gently but firmly, Elladan removed his father's hands from his shoulders. "Father, with all due respect, I have decided to denounce my title as the rightly heir to the House of Eärfalas. Furthermore, I have decided to endow my younger brother Silinde with all rights -- and responsibilities -- I have as a descendant of the House of Eärfalas." Not waiting for his father's reaction, which temporarily was stunned speechless, Elladan stepped onto the balcony and declared to the people of Yêhizla waiting below.
"People of Yêhizla! I am Elladan of the House of Eärfalas, son of Lenwë, the brave, the just, and the kind-hearted. I declare my renouncement of my right as heir to the House of Eärfalas, and endow my brother Silinde with the duties and responsibilities as the next-heir-in-line," thus Elladan had shouted, unambiguously and irrevocably severing his ties with his family.
Reminiscing all that, Elladan just shrugged. His ejection from his house was swift -- after all he had packed all necessary items the night before, so it was just a simple act of doffing his robes, picking up his knapsack, and leave. He had no ill feeling for his family, for this was exactly what he had been wishing for eversince his childhood. The same could not be said about his family, though.
He had been walking due East, toward the great port city, for several hours, lost in his thoughts, just following the well-worn path, when he realized that the sun was already low in the sky.
"Hmm. Might as well find a place to spend the night. Wouldn't want wild beasts to disturb our rest, would we?" he said to himself. So he looked around to find a niche where he could lie down. He's not looking for an inn, for he didn't need an inn to rest in. Trained to live outdoors, any covered place would suffice.

Elladan was suddenly startled awake from his sleep. It was not a restless sleep, as he -- like his fellow wood elves -- consider nature to be their home, and only society imposed the needs for temporal things like houses and mansions.
Still, he was awakened, and that couldn't mean anything good.
Quickly, Elladan sprung into a squatting position, his right hand quickly fetching the crossbow he always laid beside him while he slept (yes, even in the mansion).
Elladan controlled his breathing until it became real slow, and real silent, enabling his elven ear to hear every creak, hoot, tap, and swish of the forest around him.
Tap and swish?
Silently Elladan moved forward, still while squatting, out of his covered niche toward the road. Well-covered by the shadows of the trees, his keen eyes spotted the profiles of two humans standing on the side of the road. One tall, one short.
"Ya know, I don't think anyone will be out tonite. Why not go back now?" the tall one spoken.
"Can't do that, bud. The leader wants more gold. We have not made enough last time. Tonight might be-- shh! Listen! Carriage!"
The two men slid deeper into the shadows, still under Elladan's watchful eyes. His ears also heard the sound of a carriage coming closer.
Bandits, he thought, as he silently cocked his two-shot crossbow and loaded it with two iron darts.
