Which in your opinion has been the best choreographed and performed music videos of classical Indian dancing in recent years?
I would say:
1. Kahe Chhed Mohe --- Preformed by Madhuri Dixit in Devdas
2. Dola Re Dola--- Preformed by Madhuri Dixit & Aishwarya Rai in Devdas
3. Chilman Uthegi Nahin--- Preformed by Sushmita Sen in Kisna

When I first saw this one, I thought it would be of older movies and the first song that popped into my head was that one where Madhubala danced in Mughal-E-Azam to reveal herself for the first time, in that white sari (I'm not sure if it was a sari?)... I don't know the title, but I remember that vividly. smile
Anyway, I definitely have to agree with Dola Re Dola. I love Nimbooda from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam performed by Aishwarya Rai. Kind of recent is Madhuri Dixit's dance in Choli Ke Peeche from Khalnayak. That's all that I can really think of right now...

Oh yes, Madhuri in Sanson Ki Mala in Koyla was another amazing song I loved it! I haven't seen Mughal-E-Azam but I have seen some songs, I saw Pyar Ki To Darna Kya, that was good....but I don't remember if she was in a white sari...thank you for replying!

I haven't seen Mughal-E-Azam but I have seen some songs, I saw Pyar Ki To Darna Kya, that was good....but I don't remember if she was in a white sari...thank you for replying! Okay, I looked at some songs/videos from Mughal-E-Azam and I think this is the one I was talking about: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jw_TOnOBJRQNo white sari... I'm not sure where that came in. I guess I was thinking of the part where she was as the statue.

Chhabeela from Saawariya. I love that song so much and I love the dance, too! smile Even though I can't dance, I find myself dancing to it. Kind of. xd

Yes, that reminded me of Nimbooda, which is actually one of my favourite songs with Aishwarya. Oh and I stumbled on to some old videos with Vyjaytimala and I fell in love with this one song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lawirl1hgzw&feature=relatedShe was amazing....Helen wasn't that bad too!

Kind of. xd Maybe it's the music but it strikes me as contemporary rather than so much classical. I love Rani as a actress, as a dancer her movements are great but she doesn't have the grace of Madhuri and I won't rank her among the best dancers.
