So I meant to post this eons ago and completely forgot. sweatdrop
Since the Halloween Costume Contest went so well, Alicia and I were talking about other possible competitions we could throw together in the future. We've come up with a couple of potential ideas, but wanted to see what thoughts everyone else might have had about this. So don't be shy, just chuck your suggestions out there! They can be holiday based, guild based, or just something amusing! We're not picky, we just want to try to develop more activity around here than just the posting that's done in the RPG. 3nodding

Well...I'm no expert at these things, but there are a few idea's that struck me as entertaining. Plus a few that are common elsewhere.
The first would be in line with the theme of the guild. An Rp competition. Not necisarily an rp fight, but maybe a situation is posed to the members of the guild in any varying degree of specificity and the person who gives the most entertaining, longest, shortest, or most unexpected response wins. It's your choice how it's done, so any of those qualifications could be used.
My second suggestion would be a raffle or something. Simply each member is allowed to buy at ticket for a set amount of gold. All the gold is placed into a pot and saved for the end of the contest. Members are allowed to purchase as many tickets as they wish so that they can increase their chances, but risk more money in doing so. The prize could also be an item purchased and then donated to the contest by someone. In this case all proceeds would go to the donater/purchaser of the item.
One interesting idea would be a skill contest where each member of the guild is allowed to draw a picture or something in a certain theme, say of the guild, a holiday, or both combined. The best picture wins a prize. Or what iver it is that is being used to compete.
The last suggestion is basically a guild stat contest. Say you set a certain number of days and the person who makes the most rp responses in those days wins, or something. It could be anything like that.
These are just some suggestions. I don't care who likes them or not, because if you don't like them, then try coming up with something that is better. One way or the other I'll profit.

A random idea occurred to me just now. Creating a list of words or phrases that have to be used in a short story (or poem, or other short creative piece) and also have them make sense. Obviously working the words in so it doesn't look like you hodgepodge-d the thing together. This could come with a theme (rp-based, fantasy, myth, school, whatever! biggrin ) or not, doesn't really matter.
So...yeah. Idea stated 3nodding rofl

We could have an event where each person chooses one of their characters, and makes a short post (story?) about their character and their IRL self interacting...it could be a fight, a date, a DJ battle, etc, whatever the mods choose for the theme of the contest. 3nodding

Very intriguing.

Not only is that awesome, but it inspired me.
What about an impersonation contest. A certain character is chosen out of the lot we have and everyone has to impersonate that character based off of what they know. The character could be an npc, or a volunteered character from one of the members. Personally I think it would be fun to see other people try and take on one of my characters.

Oh, these could be fun! I'll have to give Alicia a call when I get back to the sunflower state and we'll start working out details for new guild events. (Now that it's summer, we should actually be able to follow through on exciting ideas, too.)
