Even though it was early in the morning, it was already evident that this would be another warm day. The rising sun shone bright and hot in a cloudless sky, and a faint heat haze shimmered on the horizon. A slight breeze made the grass rustle softly and ruffled the fur of the black and white lion padding across the plains. His black-tipped tail swished aimlessly from side to side.
He had come out here for a chance to have some time to himself. It had been only a week or so since Luna first invited them to live with her and Tiernay, and it already felt like he had known them for so much longer. And yet, after so long in his solitary wanderings, Bai Shan was finding it was harder than he'd thought to get used to being around so many other lions again. Now that he didn't have to worry so much about Hibana anymore - sometimes she seemed to have all the common sense of a cricket, but Tiernay was turning out to be quite a dependable cub in some ways and he had no fear they would get into trouble - he had seized the moment and decided to take a walk. But he couldn't seem to keep his mind on his surroundings. Luna kept invading his thoughts.
The way her eyes would light up when she smiled, the way her beautiful golden markings shimmered against her coat... He shook his head irritably to clear it, white mane swishing. She was just a kind lioness who had offered to let them stay with her and Tiernay, nothing more. With a low sigh, Bai Shan continued on his way.

 Luna let out a slight yawn as she rolled over in the cave and started heading toward the watering hole. She smiled as she swiftly walked. She knew she could leave The two cubs alone Tie would do good at watching. She started walking toward the plains. Her mind was else where thinking about Bai. She like him alot. Scine they have all been living togeather for a while they had begain to get closer.

((It's the holiday season! That automatically equals nonstop rush. XD))
So wrapped up in his musings was he that Bai Shan didn't realize he was heading right for the watering hole - until he nearly walked right into it, splashing water everywhere. Maybe he had come here because it was one of the few other places he was familiar with in this area. He settled down onto the grass at the water's edge and absentmindedly flicked a few pebbles into the water, still not really paying attention to what he was doing.

Luna did not really notice Bai at first. She was droven by thirst, but when she noticed him she started crouching low to the ground. Her body movement was as if she was stalking prey. She let out a small whine, hardly noticeable, then she did it.
"BAI!" She shouted as she jumped into the air aiming toward the goal of pining him down.

Bai Shan yelped in surprise, half turned his head toward the sound, saw a dark shape hurtling towards him with paws outstretched, tripped as his feet tried to move in four different directions, and fell into the water with a gigantic splash. In an instant he was up and ready to fight; the creature that had attacked him was... "L-Luna?" he spluttered through the water dripping down his face. "I thought... I didn't hear you coming," he finished lamely. He had never been so embarrassed in his life. What was wrong with him? Bai Shan had never lost track of his surroundings like that, even in familiar territory.

Luna rolled over on her side laughing. She grinned as even herself was covered with water. She smiled and rolled back over. "I'm pretty sneaky some times. Don't feel bad." She laughed, and sat up on her hind legs. She looked around. "What are you up to?" She asked.

The side of his mouth twitched up into a smile despite himself. A chuckle escaped, then another, and soon Bai Shan was laughing too. They were both soaked! As he stepped up onto the bank again, he mischievously shook himself, spraying more water in all directions but most of it at Luna. "Ah, that's better," he said, tossing his head to get the damp strands of mane out of his eyes. "Me? I was just going for a walk, I guess. I didn't expect to see you here, though I suppose I don't have to ask what you were doing." His eyes twinkled and he mimed an exaggerated pounce, tail lashing from side to side and hindquarters comically wiggling in the air.

Luna laughed as she was covered in water again. She smirked as she waited for him to finished talking, then when he starting acting like he wanted to play Luna smiled and had an idea she was still soaked so. She smirked and moved foreward crouching low to the ground.
"Come mer" She said then she moved foreward and went to go pounce on him.

Bai Shan was ready for her this time and sidestepped, throwing out a paw to trap her long tail as she went by. He had always felt most in his element when playing around like this and it showed in the easy confidence of his bearing as he rounded on Luna, reaching out with his other paw to lightly push at the very place she should be most unbalanced. "I don't think so," he laughed. He was already moving to pin her to the ground with his heavier bulk.

"Ah no!" Luna started giggling as she was pinned to the ground. She started worming around like a young cub but apparently it was not working. She started giggling again. She had no clue what to do. "Mmmm'kay, you win." She lifted up her back paws and placed it on his stomach trying to push him off.

Bai Shan grinned mischievously. "Mmm, this is actually quite comfortable. I could stay here all day." He shifted position and yawned, pretending to ignore the struggles of the giggling lioness beneath him. "It is nice out today, isn't it? Not a cloud in sight. Although we could probably use the rain..." Enjoying himself immensely, Bai Shan rambled on about whatever came into his head as if he and Luna were simply having a chat. He didn't notice that when he had moved, he had put himself in a weaker position; a good heave at the right moment and Luna would probably be able to break free.

She giggled some more. "Well I can't see the sky!" She laughed, and thats what she did. She moved to the right and wormed her way out. "Ha!" She laughed and stuck her tounge out. She was wise but she could goof off when she wanted to. And when she did she was a cub.

"Oh no you don't!" Bai Shan said, vainly trying to catch Luna before she could wriggle away. Like her, Bai Shan was really just a big cub at heart, but he was a little surprised to find such a kindred spirit in the lioness. He was too caught up in the spirit of the game to wonder for long, though, and that tongue sticking out was a challenge he couldn't resist. He jumped up and growled playfully, batting at her with a paw.

Right away Luna giggled again and turned around and started running the other way. She flicked her tail behind her as to tease him. "Catch me if you can." She taunted as she ran. A grin was spread across her face. She ended up triping over somthing and tumbled over and landed on her rump then she broke out laughhing. "Oh god." She ended up on her back.

In a flash Bai Shan was up and bounding after her. He skidded to a stop as Luna suddenly tripped, laughed at her ridiculous position, snaked out a paw - and stopped. What was he doing? This was Luna he was romping around with as if he had no more cares than a week-old cub. She probably thought he was crazy. Suddenly confused at his abrupt shift in mood again, Bai Shan retreated, one paw scuffing shamefaced circles in the dirt. If lions could blush, he would have been bright red. Things like this just didn't happen to him.
