Chi was suprised to see a guy asleep under the tree. She was just turning around to leave when she heard a noise behind her and turned around to see the guy was awake.

There it was. The largest and brightest butterfly in the field. It's golden-orange wings shimmered in the sunlight. Banshee was still, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. Out of habit, she wiggled her bum slightly before jumping, but it was enough warning for the monarch. It flew quickly out of her reach and fluttered away. She jumped after it until it flew well into the sky and into the sunlight. The blinding rays of the sun were very effective if you stared directly into them, she found out painfully. She recoiled and shook her head. The little black spots in her vision danced before her, almost taunting her with their dizzy movements.
"Ugh," she grumbled as she shifted. She rubbed her eyes and blinked furiously. "That's better."
She hopped through the tall grass and ventured to the shady trees in the distance. She could have summoned her own, but her powers were lacking as of late. But the dip in her power wasn't the only problem. She was feeling extra lazy as well. Two figures were loitering by the trees to the eastern side of the field so she corrected her path to meet them. The grass flattened under her feet as she made the final hop to the trees. "Hello," she whispered, noting the napping person at the foot of the tree.

"Who are you talking to?" asks a quiet feminine voice from up in a tree.
A shadowed figure appears, hanging up side down by her legs, a curious look on her face.

"That," she replied to her unknown asker, "is a good question." She blinked furiously again to discover there wasn't anyone napping under the tree. I must be seeing things, she thought. Brown hair came down in front of her face from above. Seplaverta looked up to see the eyes of a young woman who was strangely covered in shadows even on the bright day. That, or she still was having trouble seeing after staring into the vicious sun. Whatever the case might be, she must have been the source of the question.
"Who might you be?" she asked just as curiously, happy to meet someone new.

"Kia" she replies simply, smiling as she suddenly lets go of her branch, flips, and lighly lands on her feet, almost not making a sound.
She pops up, laughs, and pushes her brown hair and white scarf behind her.She continues, not missing a beat.
"I'm not from here..." she states then asks "and you?"
She motions to Seplaverta, asking for her name. 'This should be fun! She looks nice enough.' she thinks to herself.

"Kia, what a lovely name! My name happens to be Seplaverta." She smiled widely, but quickly changed to a more stern face. "Not from here? How did you get past the barrier?"
A lot of people have been crossing the barriers lately, what's happening? It wasn't much of a dilemma to her, but if ordinary, or not-so-ordinary , people could make it across... What of the dangers that could pass? As far as she knew, a dragon of malicious intentions could walk right through and lay siege on the castle. That would not be good. Definitely not good.
She smiled once again, hiding any concern that may have slipped through.

Aerie danced her way out to the pasture, glancing about herself in wonder and in surprise. When she had found her way to the land of Illusia, she hadn't expected beauty beyond compare. Teniel slunk behind her, keeping tabs on any dangers that might pass their way, since it seemed obvious to him that Aerie was paying no attention to any possible danger whatsoever.
Aerie, I think you should stop dancing about like a buffoon and pay attention to your surroundings. How do you know a man... or cat... eating monster won't randomly pop in and try to eat you... or me? Aerie gave him a look that simply told him to be quiet, and sighed. She plopped onto the ground amongst some flowers, and looked up into the crystal blue sky. "I wish it would snow..." Aerie whispered.

Kia smiles at her comment.
"Thank you!!" she says, sort of embarassed.
She listens closely when Seplaverta mentions a barrier. She blinks, confusion in her eyes, and naturly tilts her head alittle to the side.
"There was a barrier?" she questions honestly.

"Yes, but I guess it was lowered." Seplaverta looked up at Kia and smiled reassuringly. She didn't know why it would be lowered, but there had to be a reason. She looked Kia up and down curiously, noting the symbol that was on various pieces of her clothes. It was a small hourglass. A family symbol, maybe?
"Kia," she asked as she walked around the tree. "What's the hourglass for?"

"Oh... this? Its the symbol of my people. We're from a savanna like region a long way from here." she states happily then her smile turns to a frown. "If your wondering why I'm here, its because my clan is in trouble. And I have come here so I can become stronger and help my parents pull us through." she adds, her charcoal eyes now somewhat distant with a slight hint of sadness.
She slowly wraps her arms around herself out of habit. 'I wonder how they are doing. I hope they're all alright.' she thinks to herself.

"Parents pull you... through?" Seplaverta was intrigued. "Do tell, what kind of trouble is it? And, if you don't mind me asking, what would you do in the Illusions clan to help?" There wasn't much in the clan grounds for outsiders, did Kia know? Or was it herself that didn't know something? Now she was much more than curious. Maybe there could be an adventure in the near future. Seplaverta smiled, showing her fanged teeth to the sun. An adventure sounded like fun, and fun was something she needed.
Her thoughts flowed into different situations that could possibly happen. Maybe something grand like dragon-slaying, or maybe something simple like finding a certain mountain. Whatever it could be, it was sure to be exciting. But there was the chance that Kia needed no adventure. Seplaverta sat quietly, waiting for Kia to speak.

Kia looks down at the ground, hesitant. She waits a few moments, trying to calm herself and gather her thoughts.
"We......we're being..........slautered." she says quietly. "I came here to find help." she adds simply.

"Slaughtered?" Seplaverta was shocked. Who would want to slaughter a people like that? It was a ghastly thing to even think about. She walked to Kia and placed her hand on the girl in a small attempt to comfort her. "Is there anything I can do to help you?"
{last OOC for a bit: I'm still going to be rather inactive until Feb 9! Then I'm home and hopefully I'll be on much more consistently, Muffin =)}
