 Tonari no Totoro ( My Neighbor Totoro) is about two young girls, Satsuki and Mei, who have just moved into a new home in the country while their sick mother remains in hospital. To their surprise they find that they share this home with some rather unusual creatures, when they stumble into the hollow of a huge tree and meet a giant furry character called Totoro. Totoro and his friends cannot be seen by adults, only by the children who have the capacity to believe in them. All is well with the two young girls until a telegram arrives from the hospital: their mother won't be visiting them as planned. Adventure presides when Mei decides to run off to Shichikokuyama Hospital, with some corn that she picked from the neighbor's garden. Totoro is called to the rescue when trouble occurs.

Oh my, we watched this the passed year in Japanese and the whole time I was thinkin, "so cute!" It's just such an adorible movie.

This was my first Ghibli film! And it's my favorite. I love the sisters, and the way they befriend the adorable little totoros=^^= I want to get the dvd to see the short movie about Mei and the baby cat bus heart

I want to ride on the cat bus at the Ghibli museum. The muisc is so cute.
I want Totoro. He's so warm and fuzzy. Why evern the fuzz balls are dealthly cute.

I just watched this movie the other day in the car (I'd seen it before, but everyone wanted to watch it.) I love it! The totoro is so adorable...I wish I had one. crying I also have a totoro shirt..I wore it yesterday. 3nodding

My Neighbor Totoro is my favourite!! i watched it over and over again when i was lickle whee I shouted at my mum when she switched it off so i would go to bed (even though i've watched it 6 times in that one day anyway!).
i watched it in chinese and totoro's name sounds like dragon cat in it xd I have a teddy of totoro now! nearly suffocated my best friend when she got it for me.

It's weird, because I'm trying to collect all the Totoro plushies, Catbus, Totoro, Chu Totoro and Chibi Totoro. Not to mention I also wanted the black soot ball I saw in a shop. So far, all I've got is Totoro and Chu Totoro. Waiting for Chibi Totoro to come in stock 3nodding

Hanagumori-chan That was the first Miyazaki film that I have seen too whee
We got it when I was 10 or something, I didnt even know of Studio Ghibli at that time xp Haha, yeah same here! It was my first Miyazaki film also, but I'm not sure how old I was when I watched it. I just always remember having it. It was created the year I was born too, 1988 if I'm not mistaken. xd
