Kurenai no Buta ( Porco Rosso) is set in the golden era of the seaplanes, also known as flying boats. Porco Rosso, the Crimson Pig, is a bounty hunter who flies in his crimson seaplane to defend the Adriatic Sea from flying pirates. Porco Rosso was once an Italian war hero. However, he became so disgusted with humanity that he decided he would rather be a pig. One summer, he encounters a new foe, a beautiful girl mechanic, as well as old friends. Air adventure, plane battles, changes and new possibilities await.

I love this movie! It's so awesome. Fio is a cool character. She reminds me a lot of Nausicaa.

Yah, wasn't my favourite, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I thought the device of turning Porco back into a human every once in a while was very well used, and perfectly worthwhile.

I love Perco Rosso! It was just awesome (to me). It had humor and a plot and a pig for the main character, what's not to like? xd I loved the pirate alliance, they were great xd

I loved it, and I'm not just saying that because I like all of the Ghibli works. The artwork was as always high standards, Porco Rosso was a very funny character (set aside from his known womenizing which added a flair of defining he wasn't all good) and I loved his hideout as well as the Hotel Adriana and I would give this movie a 9/10 (it would get a 10/10 if it had given a better ending.

i like this movie... haha! I think I'm having a crush on a pig =.=; hahaha! I just kinda didn't like the ending.... But porco is good-looking when he's human. I wish his curse was removed in the end.

I saw this movie when I was a kid XD I loved it as I loved most of what I saw... I spent endless hours pretending to be air pirates but that's not important =3 hmm.. I was quite confused by it and asked so many questions to a point where my dad decided not to let me watch it anymore? but I've always wanted to see the piggie before he turned into a pig? there was a flashback and he looked so cool XD I thought there must have been like a movie preceding this one but I guess not?

Making a film about a pig is mighty creative. It's quite good too. The music is so so, I guess. I can't remember much of it. Be Gina's song is just plain creppy ^^;;;

I really liked it. My favorite part is when the pirates come out of the tent.
