Satanism Satanism can refer to a number of belief systems depending on the user and contexts. Common misuse of the word generally refers to "the worship of Satan or the practice of ritual magic." However, by the actual adherents, the suffix -ism is often used suggesting the definition as an act or practice (e.g. the word heroism), as opposed to the oft-assumed definition as the doctrine or philosophy behind an act or practice. Generally, the word "Satanism" is used to describe several distinct spiritual practices and beliefs: the two most significant seem to be LaVeyan Satanism, and Theistic Satanism. Ideas about Satanism range from essentially these two sources. LaVeyan Satanism, wherein the Satanist plays the role of the adversary to spiritual creeds, espousing vehement social Darwinism, hedonism, objectivism, and atheism. The term LaVeyan Satanist, is used by adherents to clarify that they support the ideologies in the writings of Church of Satan founder Anton Szandor LaVey.[2] Careful use of the word, according to one website, refers to a "small religious group that is unrelated to any other faith, and whose members feel free to satisfy their urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies." Secondly, the worship of an actual spiritual being, force or Idol. (Theistic Satanism), contains a very broad scope of religious groups from Pagan’s celebrating Pan to Yezidis worshipping Melek Taus, Shaytan. Even Thelema can be considered Theistic Satanism for Aleister Crowley’s Liber SAMEKH contains this phrase “Thou Satan-Sun Hadith that goest without will“ Hadith being one of the three Egyptian Gods in his “Book of the Law“. There are many modern groups of Theistic Satanists but most consider themselves to be Satanists and see no need for the use of the word Theistic. One more group that falls under the definition of Theistic Satanism would be, "Reverse Christians", being that they practice what Christians claim Satanists do and worship what they consider to be the enemy of Christ and God. I will post more as people request it. I have tons of information and am willing to acknowledge those who are willing to learn. AVE SATANAS

Come on, there has to be someone that wants to talk about this. This could be a very good debate. Or a really interesting conversation

I found some years back that the Church called it "devil worshipping" because the beliefs of satainsm went against their belief system, and since it had the word "satin" in it, it made it easy for the Catholic Church to say that they worship the devil. Oh, and that '666' being the 'mark of the beast' was just made up by a caothlic who got pissed off at his neighbor for continuessly letting his chickens roam free in the guy yard, that he went to the church and said that hisneighbor was a satinist and got executed for it. (and his home address was 666)

That's interesting. I would have never know. But also true, 666 is not the number of the beast. Truthfully it was a reference to Jesus

I believe so. It's suppose to be the date of return. Wouldn't it have been nice if he had come down on 06/06/06. LMAO. He'd be in danger

but is that the date of his coming of age, or birth? Anyways, it'd be pretty hard to prove him to be Jesus in this day and age

Well, you're right, you wouldn't be able to prove it in this day and age, but it's also a matter of faith. Though, to tell you the truth, Jesus probably wouldn't come down in this day and age. It's a world of people who don't have faith.
I do admit though, even though i am a Christian (Not Catholic), that i find it fascinating to see what other people beleive. Especially things like Satanism, an Wicca etc.

Yeah, I guess I'm considered a Christian too, but I really don't believe in that "you're going to hell if you sin", or "you must go to confession and ask God for forgiveness" crap. To me, the Catholic faith and the Catholics' actions are very contradictory with themselves. But yes, it is very interesting to see everybody's opinions on things like that. And just like any opinion, mine may not be right, but that's how I think and feel.

The catholics have done so many horrible things in the name of faith, and they can be quite hypocritical. I don't beleive in the if you sin you're going to hell. especially considering that every sinfle person in the world sins. I beleive that as long as you are truly sorry for the bad things that you've done, then you will be forgiven for them. I am a very understanding, and i think that as long as you accept the fact that not everybody beleives the same thing as you, then you can get along with people of any religion.

Have any of you seen The Da Vinci Code? Talk about what the catholics did in the name of faith... Personally, I don't think it's smart to believe in anything that you can't see. That is why I am Wiccan and Satanist. You are your own god and your own power all at once

Also, the reason that i beleive in my God, may not be because i can see him, but i can feel him there in a sense. I do beleive in my own God, and i beleive that every christian who beleives in God has their own beleifs about him. I find it fascinating about you being wiccan though. I like to read books about wicca, just as an interest sort of thing, though i myself do not beleive in it, i do find it fascinating. How long have you been a Wiccan?

I got intrested in it through a boyfriend of mine. He taught me the important things and then I learned it after that. But the thing is, my wicca is not like the one in the books. My power for both my satanism and wicca comes from within me, which is why I don't use alters, candles, athemes. Or anything like that. I have my own pwer and don't need objects to help me. I know 3nodding , I'm weird. xp

It would be a far more interesting world, i think.

true enough, but then, most people wouldn't stand in the middle of a crowded room and scream, "I'm WICCAN AND SATANIST!!!"
