Typical. Not really...it goes with a picture I don't have scanned yet. WOOT for mine being the first Topic!

Trent vs Blaine

Shimmering lights floated about, connected to various places in the ceiling tiles, intermingled with the shiny silver garlands that twined about the numerous columns of the department store like besotted lovers. Red and maroon bows were speckled over the walls, the fake trees taking up space in the already crowded aisles, making Christmas shopping even harder than usual. Customers packed the store so tightly it resembled a popular night life hotspot, the music being a soft Amy Grant instead of a blaring Metallica.

Trent was miserable. He stared down at the scarf and gloves he held in his hands, the only things he’d been able to find for his girlfriend of half a year that might make her happy. She was nothing like him. She was pretty, she was a cheerleader; she was cheeky and lovable and knew she was so much better than him. If he didn’t get this Christmas right, she’d promised to dump him. He’d wanted to get her a ring or something—something symbolic and shiny and pretty, something a girl would like. His hopes were dashed when he reached into his pockets and found nothing but a twenty—the remains of what his brother had left him when he raided Trent’s room for money in order to buy his next fix.

Trent’s misery was not lost to Blaine Collins. The beautiful preppy boy was regarding the emo look of Trent with curiosity. The bag in his hand was small and light, holding within it a small gilded ring set with six tiny diamonds. His girlfriend would love it, but that was not what was on his mind. He was staring toward Trent and wondering how the other boy got his hair into such a wild style. Trent’s hair was never the same any time Blaine caught sight of him, today it was down in the front, hanging over his deep green eyes, in the back it stuck up and out like feathers. Blaine wondered if it was soft or spiky to the touch.

Trent looked about; he was next in line and had the pleasure of overhearing the old lady in front of him cursing under her breath over not being able to get a sale. She put up quite a fight and cost Trent another thirty minutes of his life, standing in a line. He was going to be late for his date at Ruby Tuesday’s—his girl was buying. She’d never forgive him for this. He could see himself showing up at the restaurant to an empty table and visibly shuddered before taking the old lady’s place and slapping his items down on the counter. He took no more than five minutes to check out and after, made his way through the streams and clots of people in order to get to the rest of the mall. His eyes glanced at Blaine—a prep, great, he thought bitterly and left the store still feeling the stare from behind him on his back.

He just gave me a look, was Blaine’s thought as Trent passed him, having to push mightily to get himself out of the store. Having nothing to pay for and simply mulling around, Blaine decided to follow the other boy, finding him to be quite the odd one out. Trent’s movements were steady but quick and Blaine had to almost chase him throughout the mall, eventually losing sight of him in the streams of people surrounding them. He cursed long and fluently causing several mothers to avoid him. He searched in vain for Trent’s spiked hair and deep green eyes. With a sigh he sat on a metal bench next to a middle aged man who appeared to be quite blind. His white cane settled against the side of the bench like a sentry at a post. He leaned back, taking his eyes away from the blind man beside him and stared up at the decorated and lighted ceiling which curved around to create a type of spiral effect when looked up at. He grinned, wondering what he had been thinking to follow Trent Breman anyway.

Trent’s eyes scanned the crowd behind him. At least Blaine wasn’t following him anymore. He’d probably lost him about the time he’d ducked around the coffee shop to avoid him. Why had Blaine been following him? He shook his head and licked his lips. Ruby Tuesday’s wasn’t too far away; he could still make it in time. He turned his sights toward that wing of the mall and started forward.

Blaine stood up suddenly, looping the rings of his small bag around his wrist before strutting right up to a quite determined looking Trent, stopping him in mid-step. “Trent Breman,” he stated without one idea of what he wanted to say. His mouth wouldn’t open and he frowned, more to himself than to anything else, disappointed that his wit had somehow left him.

“Blaine Collins,” was the reply from a rather confused Trent. “Why are you following me?” he asked, searching the gray eyes in front of him. “I mean I barely know you, what do you want from me?” Trent took a step forward, Blaine mirroring backwards.

Trent was a lot taller up close, Blaine thought, his eyes managing to scan the other teenager in front of him. Trent’s face changed and his eyes narrowed. Oh great, now he thinks I’m checking him out, Blaine’s mind managed to blurt. “Um…uh…” he tried but Trent was backing him up one step at a time. He was amazingly intimidating with those dark eyes and that black spiked hair—he was quite…Blaine chastised himself for his thought of Trent being handsome. He took a few deep breaths to cool himself before backing straight into a pole of one of the vendors. He took a quick glance backwards and balanced himself, snapping his head back to Trent in a type of desperation.

The prep had nowhere to run and couldn’t back up any further; he looked like a little trapped mouse in Trent’s eyes. There was blood in Blaine’s cheeks; his whole face was flushed in fact. Trent backed away a little in shock—Blaine was blushing. To his own surprise Trent leaned his face down toward Blaine’s and asked in soft croon, “What do you want from me?” He felt his own cheeks flush and backed his head a little bit, embarrassed from his action.

Blaine’s eyes were wide and shiny. The small bag dropped to the floor and he almost leapt on Trent, his lips finding the older boy’s flawlessly. One of Blaine’s hands ended up on Trent’s chest, the other around him to his lower back and then carelessly to his a**.

Trent’s shock was overwhelming and all his motion stopped, letting Blaine have his way for the moment. When reality struck him he deepened and returned the advance, leaning over Blaine and resting his lower arm against the pole behind the prep, the other hand casually coming to rest on Blaine’s hip, gently pushing up the fabric of the tightly fitted Hollister shirt to find the soft supple skin beneath, just above the top of his low designer jeans. With his light fingers he skimmed and caressed the small bit of skin, prompting Blaine to softly murmur something into his mouth before pulling away, his face even more flushed as he tried to look at the floor, the other people, anything but Trent’s eyes.

“Oh God…” Blaine moaned and pushed Trent’s hand away from his exposed hip. “Oh God, I don’t know what came over me I…I…”

“I liked it,” Trent sighed; catching Blaine’s wandering eyes and holding them.

He was hooked. One kiss would never be enough. “Wuh-We’re going to pretend this never happened,” he managed. It was the last thing he wanted, the last thing he wanted in the whole world. He watched Trent’s eyes darken and he bent over, picking up the small bag containing the ring and he pushed it up against Trent’s chest. He fancied he could feel Trent’s heart beating as quickly as his was. “Take that. Your girlfriend will love it.” He turned to rush away but his wrist was caught and he whirled around, jerking his arm, wishing Trent would let him go. He held fast.

“Blaine…” Trent tried but the smaller male turned his head away. “Thank you…” he murmured and he pocketed the small box, picking up his own bag and handing it over. “I should at least give you something for it.” He let Blaine’s wrist go and watched him take the bag with the scarf and gloves.

“I’ll see you later,” Blaine mumbled before turning away, losing himself in the crowd.

“I hope so,” Trent added when Blaine was out of earshot, turning around and heading off toward Ruby Tuesday’s.

And Blaine you dummy ^^ we all know you don't want to pretend it didn't happen...we know you liked it!

Very cute, but as a critique, if Trent had lost Blaine, how did Blaine suddenly stand and walk towards Trent, when he had lost sight of him, just before?

It would be cool to see this maybe formed into a full story, including before this and after this kinda thing. Just my ideas...

13/10!

I'm not sure how that happened...but you know how you can lose someone in a mall and you're standing like, five feet from them? I think it was one of those things, where Blaine just sort of stood up, and found him.

But um...thanks. ^^; If I ever get the pic inked and scanned I'll post it. It's actually not in my normal style and I think it looks really good.

As for making it a full story--keep dreaming. My only full yaoi story is of my two characters, Thaddues Connor Becker and Jaques Byrd Daw...otherwise know as Thad and Birdie. They're the cutest little couple in the whole world...er...I think so anyway. It's all about Thad actually and the first part is a play, the second part is third person and the third part (The Thad+Birdie=Lovefest part) is in Thad's first person.

They're so adorable.

You can read whatever you want of mine. ^^

If you like the yaoi stuff you might want to try the "Several Short Stories" When it's just two names for a title, that generally means it's a yaoi sort of deal.
