Name: James Mason Cross 'Owlet'

Group: Is human but Alligned with the half infected.

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Starting Place: Statue of Liberty

Bio:
James is ex-SAS. He was a Sergeant specialising in Recon, Marksmanship, camoflage, and field craft... to put it bluntly he was a sniper. From a young age his father, a notably famous sniper who held a high rank in the military due to his years of service, taught him to shoot. The Fathers service name was Owl, thus when James signed up and was sent to boot camp he was given the service name 'Owlet'. Days into his weapons training in the Bassingbourn Army Training Regiment his skill was obvious. James was transferred to a Special Training Regiment specifically for snipers. Even to this day not a soul who trained at the location knows where it is located.
After his first deployment in Iran to aid the American Marines in a situation it was clear that he was elite. Special. Gifted. He was imediately transferred to an SAS training centre in Wales.
Since his initiation into the SAS when he was 22 he had gained many awards, ribons, commendations, enough to count him as equal to his father in the eyes of many... it was a shame that so many were infected... his reputation may have been enough to get him a high up post... a post where he could actually help people.

He was not infected... nor was most of the SAS... nor was his father... but his friends and family... they were... for a long time James thought they were gone, they were on the other side, unable to be helped... but then he found one of them... a friend.

Name: Margarette 'Meg' Thomas

Group: Half Infected

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Starting Place: Statue of Liberty

Bio: For months Meg thought she was one of the immune, one of the lucky ones...one of the blessed. Then she began to feel different. Light was uncomfortable at first...her usually tanned skin grew pale as snow. Her brown eyes changed to a glassy blue and her hair lost the bright shine it was praised for and slowly grew to a dull muddy color.

Fear gripped her heart as she secluded herself to darkness. For days she didn't leave the basement of her home. The screams and growls sent shivers down her spine. The months that followed were terrible. She lived in fear of losing the rest of her mind, losing her ability to control herself. The only thing that kept the girl from going completely insane was her faith. Brought up in a large family, Meg had found faith in God at a local youth retreat and her faith had brought her through many things. At one point the girl had contemplated suicide...thinking it'd be easier to just die and get it over with than be killed or lose her mind and do the killing but something told her to wait. Wait and see. She may not be fully infected...She may just be physically infected, not mentally.

Why, though, if God loved people, had he let this happen? Doubts assailed her mind and she was too afraid to think of them. Instead she clung to the promises of her faith and read her Bible as often as she could.

Eventually the girl began to explore the surrounding area of her town and city and found other people that weren't fully infected like herself. The companionship was comforting. Some were worse than others as to the extent of their infection. Many would go into bouts of mindless rage and several of their group were killed because they were unable to be talked down after the rage took them. The group eventually took refuge, chased from the city, in the Statue of Liberty. The fully infected were unable to swim and their little group of half infecteds, or H.I's were able to go out in twi-light, rather than having to wait until darkness fully set in.

Meg was the only one of her family and friends to not become fully infected. Or so she thought until one day, an old friend from her childhood found her.

From waht I understand of it (not having seen it myself) a terrible illness has swept the world and nearly everyone was affected. But rather than die, most became mindless predators. A few are simply deathly allergic to sunlight...even fewer are fully immune. Postapocalyptic world, pretty much.

Quote:
Name: Peter Corvallis (Pete)

Group:Half Infected
Age: 26

Gender: Male

Starting Place: Empire State Building

Bio: Corporal Peter Corvallis was an electronics specialist within a SOC (Special Ops Capable) infantry unit within the US Marines. Not Special Forces but bound by his profession, Corvallis was a warrior quicky becoming disenchanted with hischosen profession. His duty within the team was that of electronic reconnaisance and comm jamming, even while keeping comm lines open for his boys. He was a wizard with computers, and trained to kill besides it. Then, the terror struck the world. He was immediately called to the eastern seaboard and chaos descended. Soon he found himself alone among a sea of casualties, civilian and soldier alike. The survivors banded together and Pete quickly found himself one of the fighters even as he tried to find a way to contact others like them. But help never came, for whatever reason. Soon, one by one, those who showed some resistance to the disease either fell to their darker desires and were killed, or were killed by the fully infected that prowled at night.

For that matter, food had been scarce, and Pete soon lost his revulsion to eating flesh, though he almost always found time to cook it.

You've got to find some way to hold onto your humanity.

At this point in time, Pete has found himself holed up in the empire State Building, roaming from floor to floor at night to hunt down full-infected; barricading himself in an office with no windows when the sun began to rise so he could rest. He still had a few things on his side; in the chaos he'd come across a well-stocked HMMV as well as some sidearms of choice. Not all at once of course...it had taken months to get everythig together he wanted. Now he ekes out an existence while transmitting signals from the top of the Empire State Building...but only at night.

Pete carries pistols as well as an MP5-N, the close-in weapon of choice for special forces around the world. He has attempted using a long-range rifle, but outside of a thousand yards, the illness seems to have made him too shaky to remain consistent. He weakens faster than he used to, has trouble resisting his urges. But he is determined to hold onto hishumanity, certain that he can fight back what's happened to him.

So far, he's survived.

Ack, yeah, thats it in a nutshell, slightly more conspiracy theory though. I'll write up a post that'll explain it. Should have done that sooner but completely forgot, sorry. XD
