okay guys i really like anime since i am in my grade years and like it's song and eventually turns into liking Japanese music.
there were many popular songs in the anime that i bet that you like
so i just want to know if anyone of you have a fav japanese bands or singer be it rock, pop, etc.
it will be really interesting if you could tell how did you like them and how did you discover them and of course the most fav song you like.

siam shade- i discover them in samurai x or rurouni kenshin (please tell me if i spell it right) i'd say their ending song 1/3 is one of the most popular anime song i know.
my fav song from this band: dream and love sick
glay- my friend introduce them to me. they only have one song in anime (as far as i know). i'd say they are one of the most popular bands in japan.
my fav. song from this band: be w/ you and billionaires champagne miles away
L'arc-en-ciel- my friend also introduce them to me and i'd say they are one of bands that have so many songs in tha anime (gto, fma, dna square, samurai x). and very popular too (they had a concert in us)
my fav song from this band: killing me, link and flower
Spitz- i discover this band from tha anime honey and clover. i really like the calm meldoic song
my fav song from this band: sakana and all their song in honey and clover

1st off....yes Rohan you spelled it right ^^ I love that series too! My brother owns the entire manga series for Kenshin. I haven't heard of most of them before, only L'arc-en-ciel, because of Full Metal Alchemist
Bands I like from Japan
Dir en Grey - reffered by a friend- favorite song(s) is KR Cube and Zan - I like this band because, I like their sound in general. Kyo the lead singer has a decent voice, but some of his songs it sounds like he is screaming, and that can't be good for his voice. Lol. I also like the bands outfits. Very pretty.
Gackt - again reffered by a friend - favorite song is Vanilla - I love his hair in the music video to. I like Gackt because he is one sexy man, and I simply love his voice. He is a talented actor to. He appears with Hyde in the movie Moon Child, which has to do with vampires and mafia kind of things, and ooh...it is just to beautiful. The ending makes me cry crying .
Utada Hikaru - learned about her from my brother - favorite song(s) is Devil Inside and Traveling - Utada Hikaru is very pretty, and has the voice of an angel. She sings several songs for the Kingdom Hearts series, and several animes. She's pretty popular that's for sure.
Nobuo Uematsu - Final Fantasy - favorite song is I love them all, so there is no favorite - Nobuo Uematsu composes the music for the Final Fantasy games. He is a brilliant musician, and very creative. His music is usually of the instrumental kind, so I don't know what his voice is like, but I'm sure he's good.
Miyavi - A friend of mine whent to Japan and saw Miyavi walking about the streets, and nearly tackled him in happiness. So he has a picture on his myspace of him and Miyavi - favorite song(s) are Senor Senora Senorita and Ashita Tenki Ni Nare - Miyavi reminds me of a child somehow. He has an adorable voice, and his actions are comical. Plus his hair is usually often changing.
Antic Cafe - Heard their song on a friends profile - Favorite song is Kirikiri - They have a unique sound, but I don't know much about them, because I've just gotten into them.
Aqua Timez - Random search for Japanese bands - Favorite song is Sen no Yoru wo Koete - Don't know much about them either, but I think they do a song for Bleach.
Toshiro Masuda - Naruto - favorite song is Sadness and Sorrow - He like Nobuo Uematsu, does more instrumental, but has a few here and there with words and singing. We all know his music from the more popular than really need be anime, Naruto.
Yamapi - Japanese drama called Nobuta wo Produce (also staring Kame) - favorite song is Daite Senorita, from a drama called Kurosagi, followed by Seishun Amigo (with Kame) from Nobuta wo Produce. - He is funny an a talented actor. He has a decent voice, though not the best, but I love his music none the less. Same for Kame.
Ayumi Hamasaki - reffered by a friend - favorite song is...hmm....I can't remember what it's called - Her voice insn't nearly as good as Utada Hikaru, but her voice is still really really good. She sings for animes also, and she wears cute clothes sometimes ^^.
Tauya Ishii - Gundam Seed - favorite song is River - Don't know much of anything bout him. He looks spiffy in shades and a suit though. He has a smothness to his voice to...it just draws me in.
T.M. Revolution - Gundam Seed - favorite song is I can't remember what it's called, but it's from the anime Gundam Seed - Don't know too much, just that the music holds a good beat, it's fun to follow along, and I love the singing! ^^
Those are my big Japanese bands I listen to off an on. I'm currently getting into another band called Rottengraffty I think....but I listen to all kinds of music... 3nodding

(wow kumiko!! you know a lot of jap bands i'll check those that i don't know..gosh this is amazing we really have the same likes.maybe we should update it again and i'll try to put their pics)

Wow, yeah, that is a lot of bands! O_O My favorite bands are....
Psycho Le Cemu- I was watching a Sailor Moon music video and I liked the song, when I looked at it I saw that the song was called Gekiai Merr Go round from Psycho Le Cemu, I thought Id look up more songs from them, And I got hooked!! now I know Nearly every single lyric in that song and some others, I have bout 20 or songs from them on my ipod, and I know what all their band names are and what part they play!!! =DDDDDDD AND THEIR ALL MEGA HOTT!!!!!!!!!
