I'm not sure where to post this but...
Do you have family members who like Gorillaz? Or do they hate them? What do they think about your Gorillaz obsession? Are they weirded out that your in love with a cartoon? Discuss!
----
My little brother loves Gorillaz. He's total fanboy, for the band, and for Noodle.
My mom likes them as well. I actually found my Demon Days CD in her car stereo. She thinks Murdoc's a riot, and D's a cutie. She's also extremely confused about Noodle's gender. xd
My dad... could care less. Although I've caught him whistling Tomorrow Comes Today, on occasion xd

My sis loves it, she's the one who got me into them. She's just as insane as I am. My mom thinks it's cool, but she really doesn't understand how people can find any of them attractive, 'cept for Noods. Mom thinks little Noodle is just the cutest. My step-dad is pretty indiferent, and that goes for my real dad, as well. My little brother loves it! He's 4, so he doesn't really understand everything, but he knows a Gorillaz song when he hears it! Depending on what kinda mood he's in, he'll either say "Gorillaz!" or "2D!" I'm pretty sure 2D's his favorite. xd

My brother used to hate them, and thought I was a freak for liking them... then I showed him some fan comics... some video clips... and made him read ROTO... and now he likes them. ^.^ He still doesn't like the music, but he says that he really admires how they have a whole story behind them, and all the effort they put into creating them. I just asked him then, and apparently he likes 2D best. I know he finds Murdoc just as disgusting as I do... which is why I call him 'Muds'. XD
My mum just thinks it's all weird. Everytime I'm watching the videos, she gives me this look like, "Err... sure, go ahead, honey. Watch the creepy monkey men." I know that she likes '19-2000 (Soulchild Remix)', and I think she likes 'Don't Get Lost in Heaven (Demo)'
My dad pretends he doesn't like them, but I caught him sitting down at my computer one day playing 'Clint Eastwood'. XD I kicked him off pretty quickly, and he said that 'Bill Murray' "could never be as good as Clint Eastwood," so I assume he likes them.
Oh. Haha. My cousins were over on Boxing Day. One of them, she's my age, is just getting into Gorillaz - she hadn't seen the Bitez before, see, nor knew what happened to Noodle, etc... She said she really likes 'Kids With Guns'. But what is most notable about this is that my two little cousins were over as well - they're blonde haired, blue eyed little girls, 8 and 5 respectively. Now, these two are really loud-spoken and annoying if you let them be. The one way to shut them up? Cartoons. Guess what I showed them~ They really liked Noodle. They thought the 'DARE' video was a real riot; they were cracking up laughing each time she shook her bootie. 'Clint Eastwood' scared them a little, but they still found the dancing gorillas pretty amusing. 'Dirty Harry' didn't go so well - YOU try explaining to an 8 year old why a guy was hiding in the sand there. The final explanation: "He was going to jump out and surprise them! Like, boo! And yes, he is on their side." They'd seen 'El MaƱana' before, apparently (their father sort of likes to watch the music video shows we have on here on the weekends) and 'Feel Good Inc.'? Feel Good Inc. has this classic quote:
"Those men are doing gross things again!"

I do that whenever I have to babysit for one of my mom's friends. Her little girl thinks she's just queen of the world, and wants everyone to do everything for her. And Gorillaz gets her to shut the hell up and sit still. My mom's friend came home while we were watchin' the DARE vid, and just stared at her daughter. She had never seen her so entranced by something, before. xd

Ooare "Those men are doing gross things again!" XD LMAO I LOVE IT! Reminds me of my brother. We were watching 5/4, and when Murdoc stripped my bro goes: "I knew it." xd He said the same thing when he was looking through ROTO and got to the a**-naked Murdoc pic. Strangely, enough... my household seems to like Murdoc. 'Specially my mom. XD I'm not sure why.... She likes 2D too... I was flipping through ROTO, and she pointed to him and said "He's so cute!". Me: surprised "SRSLY?"

...there's a 5/4 video? I MUST SEE IT. DIRECT ME TO IT.
Not that I particularly want to see Murdoc strip, that might scar my brain further, but... I MUST SEE IT.
EDIT: Your brother didn't happen to stumble across the picture in ROTO of Murdoc and the tape measure, did he...? xp
EDIT + 2: Also, I showed them the live video for 'Dirty Harry', I just remembered then while thinking about Murdoc's grossness. You know how in this video, the camera person felt it necessary to zoom in on Murdoc's, err... unique dancing style?
"EEEWWWWWW!" from my little cousins.
XD

Sister: Likes the singles, but dosen't seem to care about the rest. She thinks the members and their storylines are freaky.
Brother: Same as my sister, but shows more interest in the band members.
Mom: Doesn't seem to care about them. She probably wouldn't even know if they were considered a cartoon band if I wasn't obsessed with them.
Stepdad: Probably knows the basics about the band, but only likes the most rappiest parts of their music.
Dad: Knows the basic as well, but I don't think it's his cup of tea. Knows they're a cartoon band and other things.

The Murdoc faces on the girls undies still makes me laugh. xd I thought it was funny that no one seemed to care that 2D almost fell off.

Well...I think I've bored them all to death with my very long fan girl chants...
But since it's been a while since I've launched into one...they might be more willing to listen to the music now!!
My mom was the reason I really ended up getting into Gorillaz in the first place. Her story's kinda neat...So I'll tell it. (I've already told this in another thread...can't remember where though...it's been too long)
She was in Wal-Mart one night, in the music section, and they were playing Gorillaz (though she did not know what it was) And so she asked the guy at the electrics counter what it was.
"Gorillaz," he said. She commented that it was interesting. "Yeah, it's pretty good." he said...or something like it. So she picked up the record, but she said she won't buy again from Wal-Mart, because they censor the songs...(and it did not have the extra two songs...)
Well, about this time or earlier last year, (this was when I was ga-ga over Gorillaz) we were in Indiana, and shopping at an F.Y.E. . . when I saw the self-titled Gorillaz CD. . . (unedited! Yeah!) and she said "Do you want that? Let's buy it, then!"
That...was...awesome...
My mom likes Gorillaz all right, but she can only stand so much at a time before she gets sick of it...I think my dad likes them all right...not his favourite band ever...but still...
That's my story! whee
