The thing is is that TECHNICALLY they can't, but they do it anyway. There is something about "inalienable rights" which means that they are natural rights that cannot be taken away. No matter what race, gender, or age. The sad thing is, is that no one ever put "sexuality" in the mix because sexuality and sex is the private "behind closed doors" of peoples lives. Who cares if you've had homosexual OR heterosexual sex?
Sex is NATURAL because humans are sexual creatures, no matter if a guy screws a guy or a girl
or a girl screws a guy or a girl. whatever. It's all NATURAL. and it's a right that CANNOT be taken away. Thus taking away the right to have sex (which shouldn't be taken away because that right is INALIENABLE/NATURAL/UNALIENABLE OR WHATEVER YOU WILL!!) for ANYONE is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
But the congress and the president is so ******** homophobic and this government goes by "The bible" that they don't see that. They are going by "leviticus" which TOTALLY contradicts everything that the bible says.
The bible basically says, God accepts ALL FORMS OF LOVE. and If the bible says otherwise, you can fillet me and smother me in gravy. Thus homosexual love CAN BE and IS accepted by "God" or otherwise. Leviticus says that homosexual love is not permitted, when parts of the old, and most of the new testament EMPHASIZES that god permits ALL FORMS OF LOVE. The government isn't going to hell for ANYTHING if gay sex is allowed. There will be no "wrath of god" or "divine natural catastrophe" that will destroy all in this earth or continent..
Don't get me STARTED on the "separation of church and state." because it will only make this post stretch the page!!!! D<

Ophaso I wonder to what degree is this law enforced? what do you mean by that? as in, supported? I'm not entirely sure about the People (or, the majority), probably Not much. If not, the numbers that are against it are probably slowly growing. But by congress and as far as the president is concerned: A ********. No one has even bothered to abolish the law or laws. Only very few states have chosen to do so.

Canada still has a silly law that states no one should have a**l sex until they are 18, however other forms of sex was legal at 14 until very recently it was changed to 16 because of the conservative government being idiots. They can't go after you for just having gay sex a different ages out here which is why the a**l sex law was put in place. I always found it funny because it meant that lesbians could have sex when they were really young, but gay men needed to wait until they were 18 by law. *sighs* What people will do to try to control others is just silliness.

I've always wondered, how do these people plan to regulate that? O.o Set up a camera in your rooms/bathrooms/kitchens/dark alleys? Honestly, the only way that could get out is if someone said it right to the judge's face, and that person were to be one of the people what were goin' at it, right? Or are parents fudging the system or something?

We actually had an interesting (read: insane) discussion about this in Legal Studies. Maria, the teacher, was reading out a list of "Stupid Laws from Around the World", and, at the end, asked if we had any to add. Naturally, I put my hand up and said "What about the stupid law that says you can't get married to someone just because they're the same gender as you?" The following conversation ensued:
Maria: Well, yes. But we're better than some parts of the world. Gay relations are only illegal in some states of Australia. I'm not even sure if that's current. (We have a great teacher.)
Curtis: But, like, how do you even police whether people are having straight or gay sex? I mean... what do you do, knock on the door and ask "HEY, ANY GAY SEX GOIN' ON IN HERE?"
Emily: What if there was some kind of alarm invented?
Curtis: YEAH! BUTTSEX ALARMS! SO EVERY TIME THEY DID IT, IT WENT OFF! *does alarm imitation*
Me: What about lesbians?
Everyone: *ignores, and sets about bickering about what if straight people liked it like that/other extenuating circumstances*
Yeah. Although it was a pretty silly discussion, it still pretty much covered the same ground as this thread. Exept this one had 'buttsex alarms'. O.o
