Deal Me In

Ash woke up. It wasn't because it was noisy - in fact it was the complete opposite. It was
too quiet. There should have been some noise. At the very least, Simi yelling at the T.V. because the channel had been changed from QVC. Ash crawled out of bed, and wandered down the hallway towards the throne room. No sign of Simi nor her sister. The T.V. was even off. He lurked around his home and finally came to Simi's room. He could hear girlish giggling coming from inside. He peered around the edge of the door and quickly pulled back and slammed the door - a look of horror crossing his face.
Simi looked up. Uh oh. She was in trouble now. And not just any trouble but the T-R-O-U-B-L-E kind. The Simi had thought that if she and Xirena had been quiet enough, they wouldn't be caught. Besides, they were good Charonte demons that always obeyed their Akris'. Kind of. So what if she had gone into the mortal realm...with Xirena. So what if she had found her favorite person...Travis Fimmel. And so what if he was now shackled up and sitting on the floor in front of The Simi's fireplace playing cards? What was so wrong with that? The Simi never did anything wrong. She just...didn't always tell her Akri what she was doing. After all, her Akri had too much bad food on his plate and she didn't want to worry him.
Ash shook his head. He did not just see what he thought he did. Did he? Travis Fimmel was not sitting in Simi's bedroom tied up and playing cards. They were not wagering using Diamonique. It wasn't happening. Ash re-opened the door and realized that yes, it was. Travis was sitting there and, oddly enough, seemed to be enjoying himself. Simi looked at Ash and Ash looked at Simi. Then he looked at Xirena. "Xirena. You are older then Simi. Shouldn't you have told her NOT to bring him HERE?? "Of course Xirena did, Simi's Akri. But she a stubborn Charonte. The Simi does me proud". With that, Xirena beemed a huge, fang filled smile over at Simi. Ash sighed. There wasn't much that he could do. You couldn't really say No to Simi. After all, she hadn't eaten anyone and both she and the human hadn't done anything. Not that he could risk them trying it. Deciding that there was only one way for him to assure that both kept their hands to themselves, he quickly walked forward, sat on the floor and said "Deal me in - I'll show you how Gold Fish was meant to be played".
