Not sure if this in the right section, but... sweatdrop

Anyway, I got the box set of the english version of Princess Tutu for Christmas, and now I'm re-watching it with my mom. It makes sense, since she was the one who started my obsession with fairy tales when I was a little kid (which is why I love the series so much! mrgreen )

So, my question is... Has anyone else shared the series with their parents? Or a sibling? Or anyone in their family, for that matter. Or do you just keep it to yourself? heart

I've shared it with the majority of my friends, but no one else I know has been interested- usually the name puts them off right off the bat. Instead of thinking that it's a show that heavily relies on fairy tales and classic ballet with dark undertones, most pass it off as a cutesy monster-of-the-week shoujo anime- a notion which the first DVD or so doesn't help in the least

Very true. The name doesn't really help much, does it? xp

I showed it to my sisters and two of my friends. But when I first told my friends about Princess Tutu, they didn't want to hear the name, ever. But I got them to watch it!

I got the collection for Xmas too =D!

(And don't worry, this topic is in the right spot, since it's PT related.)

I've mentioned it to my friends, and a couple started to watch the series, but that was it. I'm going to try getting my roomate to watch it with me when she comes back, along with another friend of mine who, last I heard, had wanted to watch it anyway.

xD; I don't think anyone in my family would really be into watching it with me... which is sad... but nothing I can do about it xP.

Nope.
I don't scare it with my family.
Me and my dad don't get along, and my mom doesn't like that I watch Anime so much.
I do share with my friends though.
Though I don't like too since I normally end up not being friends with them and they are enjoying the anime I showed them >.>
I tried to get my friend to watch Petite Princess Yucie and she was like 'No' as soon as I said the title XD.

I have another friend who is out of state who would probably like it... I'm going to recomend it to her the next time we talk. biggrin

I just finished watching the series with my mom (and it was the first time that I'd seen the English version, so it was interesting). Me and my mom are a lot alike, so I knew that she would like it. 3nodding

My brother on the other hand (the other anime fan in the house)... There is no way I'd ever get him to watch something even remotely related to ballet. rofl

I have a friend who likes a lot of crap anime, so I let her borrow it (so she can watch an anime with TASTE). Her sister is big on classical music and balet so she is watching it too. My dad isn't interested, (He would rather watch Naruto). My mom MIGHT watch it. But she isn't into anime much.
My sister is a Fakir fan XD

I got two of my friends to watch, and I consider them 'mommy' and 'sissy', if that helps. Most are put off by the title. mad

I absoultly hate it when your family thinks you have no life, and that your a loser just because you watch anime! grrr! get's me so angry!! So what if i like fantasy! I'm an artist! And i have a social life!! so suck on that!!!

(sorry about the rant! -_-")

anyways, I feel so lonley because my family doesn't watch anime. Only me, my sisters and brother. And the the rest are into reality shows, and Gossip Girl. (not that there's anything wrong with GG, it's just too much unrealistic drama) and we are a family of hispanics, so that downs the probability of anime watchers who are hispanic. I got my little cousin to watch it though, and she loves it! It makes me feel good to open the eyes of young ones. I just wish my family was more open to new things.

It took months of dropping thinly veiled hints, but I got my family to watch it. They loved it!...Until the last episode, after which they decreed that it was a piece of crap. They did the exact same thing with Pan's Labyrinth - if something doesn't have a happy ending, they don't like it. Tragedy can be beautiful, too! crying
Oh, I'm new here, by the way. Hi.

Let's see... my husband knows about it but doesn't want to watch. I understand though, he's not very into fairy tales or ballet or classical music (I'd say most of it is actually from the romantic era, but whatever) to begin with so he has no reason to really want to watch it.

I've had a couple friends express interest and I've encouraged them. I thought the best way was to share the infamous Hal Om Mig (Hold Me Now) AMV since that's what got me into the series to begin with. I also finally found the commercials I had heard so much about and I've been sharing that too. I just hope one of them actually sits down and watches it.
