Normally i don't do one thread so close to another. I just thought it would be fun to ask one simple question. What do you think magical creatures wait for before they show ourselves to us in a physical manner? Now i'm not talking about seeing magical creature spirits. any idiot can do that. but to have a magical creature choose to show themselves to you physically. i've had it happen a few times, and that got me thinking, what were they waiting for and why did they choose that moment to show themselves to me? So, now with an example. what do you all think these creatures wait for before showing themselves physically? Has anyone else here ever felt or heard or seen a physical magical creature? Have fun with that one while I go to surf elsewhere. WEB POWERS ACTIVATE!

The time was right, that is why!
No, seriously, how are we supposed to answer that? I mean, the entity most likely to know why a magical being has physically revealed iteslf to you is that self-same magical being. I have trouble enough figuring out the motives and actions of other members of my own species (my major is psychology), and there is no reason to assume that the thought process and motivations of a magical creature even resemble those of a human. I might have a better time guessing if I knew what type of magical creature we're talking about, assuming the creature actually is of a type I might reckognize, but even then it would just be a guess. It has its own reasons, and as has been my experience, they will probably be revealed in time...
Anything else?

the reason is that magical creatures are on a different plane than ours. so for them to come over her will require alot of energy to retain themselves on this plane.

Areleklo ok, well what about faeries then? i'll use them as an example because i've seen and felt them before. Well, they tend to be fickle and mischievious, though most often not in a bad way... They could reveal themselves just cause they felt like it, they tend to like watching after certain people, or they were just having fun and stumbled upon them... Just a few options.

CabrionDeluviant not in a bad way? which faeries are you acquainted with? I'm just used to maliciousness from others breeds of fae. My experience with faeries has led me to believe they are like children, and that most anything they do that turns out truelly horrible was not intended.

i noticed that it kinda varies on the person. sometimes, you'd do some kind of test.
me, for example, literally had to fight myself to see it. (he was under some kind of spell. he was just a shadow until i defeated it).

I've had an encounter with a young feary before. I was having a terrible case of insomnia (couldn't sleep.)i turned over and she was standing on a chair near me. she was glowing a pale green, and had butterfly-like wings. then, she took a step and disapeared, probably going back to her own plane of existance. soon after she left, i fell into a calm and peacefull sleep. 3nodding
