Count Your Sheep is a strip created by Adrian Ramos about a young girl, her widowed mother and their imaginary friend, Ship. Ship is a sheep. If you count him you'll fall to sleep. That was originally all the comic was supposed to be. Trust me when I say that it has evolved into much more.

The artwork is simple with a blue motif that lends itself well to a quite often either dreamy or sad atmosphere. But it's not a bad sad, it's a cute sad. In fact, the strip suffers from acute cuteness. Well, I say suffer, but it doesn't really. The childish naivety and innocence of the the daughter, Katie, adds punch to many of the scenes.

One of my favorite (I'd link it but it's somewhere in the vast archives. If you happen to find it could you link it, I'd like to read it again.) involves Katie trick-or-treating with Ship while in a white bed sheet. When asked if she was dressed like a ghost she innocently replies no I'm dressed as my Dad. Not exactly a lol moment, but a very touching and funny moment when you realize that her intentions are pure and show how much she wishes she knew him. Anyway, now that you've read my take on it. Here's the link:

Okay, so it wasn't as hard to find the strip as I thought (he does his archives by date, so I just looked for late October :p).

Goodness! I can't believe that I missed adding this one to the list! I often go through my bookmarked webcomic lists and compare it to the growing list of threads to see which ones I've not hollered about yet, and somehow I missed CYS!

This comic is quite a cute comic, as you said. I can't pick a favorite from the comic because there are just so many that I appreciate.

Definitely a comic worth a glance from everyone heart

Tsk Tsk, how can you forget CYS? I don't know if I can forgive you. Well, if Ship can forgive Laurie, I can forgive you razz

There was actually a time recently when I fell behind in checking CYS and when I finally got around to back tracking, I got the happy surprise of seeing that Dreamleak had done a guest strip for CYS. It totally made my day when I saw that. Have you looked into Dreamleak? If not, you definitely should.

I looked into it when I you originally posted a thread about it. I like it in much the same way that I like CYS. Their drawing styles are similar, in terms of how they draw people, but the way in which they approach the strip is very different. Dreamleak is by nature a very visual comic; I especially love the big background shots, like the building in the morning. http://www.dreamleak.co.uk/archive/23_10_07.html
