Count Your Sheep is a strip created by Adrian Ramos about a young girl, her widowed mother and their imaginary friend, Ship. Ship is a sheep. If you count him you'll fall to sleep. That was originally all the comic was supposed to be. Trust me when I say that it has evolved into much more.
The artwork is simple with a blue motif that lends itself well to a quite often either dreamy or sad atmosphere. But it's not a bad sad, it's a cute sad. In fact, the strip suffers from acute cuteness. Well, I say suffer, but it doesn't really. The childish naivety and innocence of the the daughter, Katie, adds punch to many of the scenes.
One of my favorite (I'd link it but it's somewhere in the vast archives. If you happen to find it could you link it, I'd like to read it again.) involves Katie trick-or-treating with Ship while in a white bed sheet. When asked if she was dressed like a ghost she innocently replies no I'm dressed as my Dad. Not exactly a lol moment, but a very touching and funny moment when you realize that her intentions are pure and show how much she wishes she knew him. Anyway, now that you've read my take on it.
