Nine could not have said it better. Several "denominations," if you will, of Satanists actually do not get along very well because of opposing beliefs. At the same time, a lot of Satanists don't get along with other people of the same exact path as them, nor are they typically expected to. This is certainly true for LaVeyan Satanism. Several past and present members of the Council of Nine have repeatedly stated that Satanism is individualistic enough of a religion that people of many different beliefs will gravitate towards it. Sharing a religion in common is not always means for civility, much less friendship.
And I think I speak for at least 95% of this guild when I say something ill towards the Joy of Satan group, whom many consider a form of "Satanism," whereas I consider it "pseudo-Satanism..." otherwise known as "bullshit."
The CoS is also quite adamant on dismissing
all other forms of Satanism. The administration is all but "accepting" of other "denominations." Take a gander at both their past and present bunco sheets.
