Welcome to the Catacombs; A subterranean city below the territory of the Earth elementalists. Beneath the barren scorching sand dunes above, an underground society thrives, with tunnels stretching beneath and beyond each elemental territory. Current: As of now, we need more apprentices to be active and contribute more to the guild itself. If you would like to Join the Earth Element and become an apprentice, please contact me through a private message or post here in this thread stating that you would like to do so. Upon proving that you have basic roleplaying skills and that you are able to follow the rules of the thread (below), you will be accepted into the Earth Element.Rules:: - Be kind, be courteous, and follow Gaia's TOS. - During roleplaying, do not "Godmod", "Autohit", or take any sort of control over another character without permission. - Be ACTIVE. We don't need a lot of members here, we just need active ones to keep this place bumping. - If someone is breaking these rules, don't hesitate to report them to me, in which case you will be given a warning. Repeated warnings will result in a temporary ban. 'Cause that's how I roll. CONTENTS: Introduction and rules: First post Earth Element summary: Second post The Catacombs: Third post List of Masters and Apprentices: Fourth Post

The Earth Element: The Earth Element is quite a complex element to describe, let alone boundry.. The term "earth" can be taken literally to describe all of the elements found on earth. This, however is not the case.
It embodies natural products of the earth itself. To control over the Earth Element, is to control such things as rock, metals, minerals, and even to form them with the processes that would naturally take the earth itself sometimes thousands of years to create. The easier processes for beginers being copper and alminum, as well as basic control over such items.. But experienced members are able to form, extract and control things like beryllium, and masters have been known to go so far as to muster the ability to process diamonds and control the actions of plate tectonics.. Though this is something extremely rare..
The Earth Element remains neutral in elemental conflicts in the world above, mainly for trade and supply purposes, and are only, in rare cases, active in war, due also to the very small number of elementalists. Underground, resources are scarce, and communication and trade with other elements provide what is needed for life below, so neutrality is a very high priority to the Earth Elementalists.
It is an extremely powerful element when in capable hands. In many cases, Earth Elementalists act more like mercenaries for hire, or shock troopers, if you will.. Powerful, but unable to amass an army. The number of Earth Elementalists is kept low, control of the earth has to be limited and if the numbers were ever to grow too high, the elementalists themselves could quite litterally rip the earth apart.
The downside; Training is slow. One doesn't simply become able to make diamond armor and rip the ground out from beneath their enemies. It's a long, arduous process, some things coming more with age, rather then training.. The more, and longer, in touch you are with the earth and its processes, the more knowledge you gain of its capabilities and your own.. But the end results of a fully trained experienced Earth Elementalist can be extraordinary.

The Catacombs:
"The Catacombs" is the outsider name for the city beneath the Earth Territory and interconnecting tunnels branching out to the other territories across the land. Though the city itself's real name is "Silicis Terra", The Catacombs describes its extensive underground "roads".
The "City beneath the sand" is much like a huge cavern, hollowed out in a dome shape.. Stone and clay buildings jut from the ground and homes are carved out into the outer walls. (Think something like this completely underground) Life goes on like the normal cities above, only lit by torch-light and weatherless..
Tunnels expand for hundreds upon hundreds of miles to the other provinces to retrieve supplies for life below. Resources are scarce, so trade is essential. Fine gems are abundant and easy to find for earth elementalists, and it isn't too hard to exchange rare jewels for food and water.
Training areas dot the city floor, sparring rings for physical strength, and rock lifting pits for elemental training, among other things.
Make yourself at home.

Status = OPEN.
Come in, chat, roleplay, whatever you'd like! The under city is open to all elements. wink
So I finally shook off the laziness and re-did the earth thread.. Put my own spin on things, and finally I feel somewhat like a real master. smile
Any critisism should be directed here.
Thanks y'all! surprised
