This thread is about psychological, absurdist films that straddle the genres: Horror, Comedy, Drama, etc. They're usually presented with heavy doses of surrealism, absurdism and nihilism and limited to cult followings. Japan and Korea seem to have tons of films in this style and then there are directors like David Lynch with a similar style.
My personal favorites are Gozu & Marebito. There are still quite a few Lynch films I need to watch before I can sum up my opinion of him as a director, but his newest, Inland Empire was superbly confusing. Dumbland, otoh, is hilarious.

My favorite Lynch films are Eraserhead and Lost Highway. Have you seen Jacob's Ladder? I think it's directed by Adrian Flynn. I'm huge into psychological horror/surreal s**t. Silent Hill videos games are orgasmic too.
