In this you will find out how CyberTek was created and a bunch of other interesting things about our eHome. This was written before but got deleted when we decided to change the name, luckily were back again and I can share the story with you all over again.
Feel free to make some popcorn, prop your feet up on your desk and relax. This may be long...and somewhat boring.

HOW IT WAS CREATED Yes, I am the original creator.

CyberTek was originally a cult on Vampirefreaks created by myself and an ex of mine (of course I came up with the name). It was a guild specifically for people interested in the Cyber Goth fashion. I gradually grew bored with Vampirefreaks and abandoned the cult.
On April 2nd, 2007 in the early afternoon I had decided to start a guild here on Gaia. I was tired of seeing all the poll whore guilds, emo guilds, and Role Playing guilds. So I thought, "Hey, I can make a guild of my own." And I did. As soon as I began advertising for CyberTek people flocked in. We had 12 members the very first day. Not much to brag about, but it was to me. Some of those original 12 members are still with us. Zombie Moon, Kill It [D34D] and JackdMinion(though he isn't on much due to no internet) are the most popular.
The guild mostly began as an anti-conformity hangout. Anti-conformity to the trends of emo and scene that is. We only allowed Goth, Punk and Rivetheads. [like today] and all branches of those labels were welcomed to join and still are.
Sadly, I cannot remember exactly who the first actual member is. Maybe you can find out in the introductions thread. I also cannot remember who my first crew members were.

GOTHS, AND PUNKS, AND RIVETHEADS, OH MY!Instead of being like every other label based guild out there we like to combine a few. Goths, Punks, and Rivetheads are all closely linked which is the main reason why all are welcomed to join.
Unlike most Goth guilds on Gaia we do not let just anyone in. WE ARE NOT HERE FOR INFORMATION. We all know who we are, if people want to see what Goth is they can look it up on the internet or go join one of the other Goth guilds.
You rarely ever see Punk guilds on Gaia, most punks are rare to even see on Gaia so making them part of the CyberTek family was a great idea.
I have yet to see a guild on Gaia dedicated to Rivetheads. It's sad, but at least we can say we thought of it first.
But when you look past the labels, past the stereotyping..we are all one big family. Call us goth, call us punk, rivethead, whatever. We are a part of CyberTek, we are the best.

Elitists FTWOne of our very good members, Swagger, left us sometime in the beginning due to lack of being the best. That's when we knew we had to turn CyberTek around and we did. We made it into an awesome hangout with lots of things to do. We hold contests, have games, tons of forums to go to and even our very on CB where you can join in on some weird a** conversations.
We have a pretty much "in your face" application you must fill out in order to get in. This was Swagger's idea in the first place. We don't want just anyone joining, we want the best. And we have the best.
So many people who send join requests are declined because they don't make the cut. The most I know I ever declined in one day was 15 people.
Note: Swagger did eventually come back but Kill It [D34D] ended up banning him for inactivity. =/

Democracy. Here at CyberTek we suggest ideas and then have a vote on them. We let the members decide, because it is the members who keep the guild alive.
Of course not all of our decisions are voted on, some I just end up doing on my own for the good of the guild.
It wasn't always like this though. Occasionally we would have votes but not as much as we do now.

Well recognized, not entirely popular.CyberTek is a well recognized guild because of how we advertise. Most of our members have the guild's banners in their signature or profile thus making us well remembered.
On the other hand, we're not so popular. Though a lot of people see our banners and advertisements we don't have THAT many people joining. Maybe it's because we decline so many requests or maybe it's because some of our members look/seem scary.
Whatever the reason CyberTek is respected, yet feared because of our "top s**t" attitude.

INTRUDER ALERT!Haha, yeah right. The only real intruder we ever had was that pathetic stalker of mine (and she thought I didn't look through the member's list) Someone let her in, maybe it was me not thinking..but anyway..
We have never had any real serious problem with accidentally allowing emo/scene kids to come in. If we did let them in we banned them right when we figured something was up.
Why those kids want to get in so bad I will never understand. Almost everyday we have join requests (and let me tell you it says right on the front page that we do not allow emo/scene kids! AND EVEN IN THE APPLICATION ITSELF!) from emo/scene kids wanting to get in. It's unbelievable how blind or stupid these people are.

"And we like it that way." The CyberTek slogan.
I already explained the Goth, Punk, Rivethead subject. But do you remember Raver?
Ah, yes. Raver. That pissed a lot of our guild members off. But c'mon Raver is actually a close part of our other labels here at CT as well. We do have some ravers in here, there are very few but they are here.
Yes, we did end up changing it back to Goths, Punks, and Rivetheads. But we do still allow Ravers. Especially Gravers =D

CyberTek Apocalyptic Allure Oh yes. A lot of you probably remember this one. The stupid change we decided to make (the name wasn't stupid, I actually thought it was pretty cool) but the idea was dumb and should have never happened.
CyberTek was dying down..A LOT. I had been inactive a lot due to my internet being down and personal family issues. I finally came back and only a few people were active. MAYBE THREE AT MOST.
Before this major change I assigned JackdMinion to take over the guild for me while I was gone.
Zombie Moon and I decided it was time for a change. We needed to get this guild back on track so we renamed it and gave it a little twist. We would be an alternative guild for self confidence and glamour. Kinda stupid huh? Like I said the name was cool (she thought of it) our idea was dumb. The guild fell anyway.
But we finally brought it back, it's been a few months since that major change. But we're doing fine.

CyberTek: The FutureWe have one main plan for the future and that is to turn CyberTek into an official website.
We'll do it, it's only a matter of when. Stick around and you may find out.
