It would seem like ages before help finally arrived. And when it did, i was NOT in the form of emergency vehicles or any other government-based help. It was the in the form of a helicopter that came and hovered low above the ground. There wasn't a safe place for it to land, but a man jumped out of it, falling slowly then landing gracefully. He was dressed in an all white, cotton outfit, his whole body covered, except for his mouth for speaking purposes, "Is there anyone I can take back for help?" He called out, "I can leave with people, but I'm afraid I can't dig anyone out."
He looked around with a frown. People that had at first come out to be rescued had run. Help or not, after dealing with Mudslide, this town wasn't interested in help from an evolved. He wasn't going to chase, he would call and people needed to come to him if they really wanted the help.

Erol lay on his back staring endlessly at the sky. Had all that just happened? Did he really loose to that woman? A strangled cry escaped his lips as he made an attempt to move, the pain shot through his body like a 7.0 earthquake. Laying there for a moment he took in a deep breath before peeling himself from the mud he'd found himself half burried in.
Even if he wanted, using his powers was out of the question. They had been completely spent after the blackout. He knew it... another day had passed where he allowed his powers to take over him. It was at this time his ears perked up when he heard the helicoptor. He looked behind him to the man dressed in white. Of all places to be wearing such a thing. It almost annoyed him... almost.
"Go away." he called out to the man, not wanting to deal with people right now. His eyes trained on the area where the diner had been completely engulfed. Rayborn? Was he alive in there? "Damnit..." he began making a move to the diner each step more painful then the next. By the time he did manage to find the area where he thought Rayborn was, he couldn't see anything. He began digging... "If you're going to stand there all day then leave... if not get over here. My friend is in there. I gotta get him out!"

Other than a child that had crawled out crying from somewhere, no one else had addressed the man. Picking the girl up -- and getting his white suit all dirty on the spot -- he went over to Erol, "I don't have any way -- or very much time -- to be able to dig people out." He spoke, sadness in his voice, then frowned.
The dirt began to lift up, vertically. He couldn't move it horizonally, but he could levitate it. He didn't pick more up than the entrance of the rubbled cafe, and he didn't pick it up very far. He didn't wish to possibly collapse more of the heap onto any possible survivors, "Is there an opening, or is it more dirt?" He grunted.

He couldn't see much but at least the man made an attempt. Maybe Rayborn had gotten out. Erol could only hope as he noticed a bit of an opening. Slipping inside he looked around as best he could but it was simply too dark down there, and the fact that it could collaspe on him in the aftermath made him feel ashamed of himself.
He didn't want to die. That fact had run over his mind continuously during the fight with Mudslide. That woman wasn't stable, not at all. She'd done all this damange without blinking an eye. How could anyone be so exceptionally cruel?
"I... I don't see anyone." He sighed, Rayborn was his manager, more than that, a dear friend. He'd accepted Erol for who he was, despite what other's might have thought. He'd even kept his secret work with the NSA a secret from the rest of his band group, now the man might have met his end. Who would manage them now? Who could possibly accept managing a group with their front man as an Evo?
Coming out of the hole, Erol looked down at the ground forlornly. He shook his head. "Nothing..." Afterwhich he looked up noticing the child the man was holding. At least the child was safe. "Who are you?" He finally asked, trying his damndest to rub the mud and dirt from his face. It was no use, however, as he moved clear of the mess before him.
This sucked. He'd have to tell the guys what happened to Rayborn; they'd want answers and he wasn't sure if they were ready for the truth yet. He sighed awaiting the stranger's answer to his question.

"I don't have a code name." The man answered. He'd pulled a cellphone from his pocket and offered it to Erol. If he knew someone that might be alive under that rubbish and able to answer, then it could offer them both a speck of hope and direction. "I'll take you and her somewhere safe, but in return I do ask that you keep that secret." He had no idea that Erol had his secrets as well. All he knew was that there was a man in this town that didn't run screaming from an evolved. Miracle of miracles. But here, everyone went after the evolveds. Made their lives miserable. He didn't want that for himself nor his family.

Erol took the cellphone eyeing it suspiciously. "Then why are you here?" he questioned instead. He could respect the man's need to keep things to himself. Erol didn't like divulging information about his past, present or future either so it was refreshing when he came across another with the same mind set.
He walked nearer to the man, looking at the girl. "Give her to me." he demanded, not sure if he should trust the man just yet. If anything he could at least protect the girl, if this man proved a threat. He would at least do that. The reaccuring idea that he wasn't of very much use to anyone kept smacking him in the back of the head. Shaking said head, dirt and mud spilled from his shaggy hair as he reached his arms out for the girl, not taking "no" for an answer in this. Besides, he couldn't help but respect a man who dressed so emaculately, no point dirtying such fine threads.

"Because no one else is offering their help." He answered, frowning a bit at the attitude, "So I'd like to offer mine. Before some idiot comes to figure out who the evolved was that helped to kill him or her. That's the sort of town we're in. They're likely to assume it's whoever isn't harmed here helped cause the problem." His voice grew in intensity as he spoke, disapproval of the town's ignorant population clear in his voice, but even in that strong opinion, he didn't hint at losing any sort of control.
He hadn't responded at first to Erol's demand of taking the child, but as he spoke, he held her a little closer, as if protecting her from the predicted crowd. "You can come, or you can let us go."
He didn't know if he could trust this young man or not.

Erol noticed more the tone in the man's voice rather than what he was saying. It was often how you say something more than what is said, and he could sense a venom there, bitterness and distrust of the humans and how they treated Evolved.
Erol understood that, but he didn't turn his back on humanity. Besides, if you took away the title, weren't all Evos at the basis of their being, human?
Grunting he stepped forward, his eyes trained on the girl. What did this man want? He said he was here to help but it seemed he was here to salavage what was left of the situation. Only Erol remained and the girl, others had fled, and his friend.... Erol growled. Rayborn? "I want to leave." he said abruptly, a far away look on his features. "I have to get out of here. Now!" He practically demanded. The bitterness was in his tone as well, screw the humans, screw their town and all they stood for. All of them could rot for all he cared, he just wanted his friend back.
That b***h would pay, that was for certain. But for now he knew his anger would amount to throwing grapes at an ape. "Please... can we just get out of here." he finally whispered his eyes trained on the area where the diner used to be. He knew, not all humans were evil, some did accept Evos for who they were, Rayborn was testament to that, he would find Mudslide, and for all puns intended drag her name in the very thing she stood for.

The man nodded, "Come on then." Not that Erol had a choice. He would find himself lifted --again, directly vertically up towards the helicopter. The helicopter maneuvered itself to where it could pick up the three. The man slammed closed the door then gave the pilot the go ahead to leave. He sat down with the girl, pulling out a clean towel to toss at Erol and then one for her, trying to wipe away grit and tears.
"My name's Wesley." He said after he'd calmed the girl at least into quiet crying, "Are you injured? Is there anything I can do for you?" He now looked Erol over with some concern, then jumped when Erol's own cellphone started to ring. He looked down to allow him to answer, if he chose.

His eyes widedened when he was lifted into the helicopter. Immediately he knew that Wesley was an Evo like himself, though he had some skepticism earlier, now he could not deny it.
When he was safely aboard he leaned back against the seat, finally allowing his true nature to show. He looked broken, and beat up, hardly able to keep up the tough guy act for all pretenses. When the towel was tossed at him, he didn't have enough energy to snatch it out of the air so let it fall in his lap before taking it in hand. He did manage to clean some of the dirt off his face at the very least, letting the rest remain caked into his threads.
Sighing, he leaned back for a moment more before Wesley asked if he were okay. "I'm fine... call me Erol." he said finally, since they were on a naming basis now. It was by then his phone began to ring. Looking at the offending contraption he eyed Wesley before giving the phone a final look. He flipped it open to answer it. "What?" He wasn't one for eloquence when it came to phones, so whomever was on the other end would simply have to deal.

((LOVE ON YOUR CABBAGE PATCH KIDS!!))
"Did you encounter Mudslide?" Charles asked on the other end of the phone, also abandoning formalities. He sounded, as usual, stressed and perturbed, "Is the area secure? I've hardly received any report other than that there was an attack. They're demanding from me to know if they can send in safety vehicles."

Erol growled at the sound of the familiar voice. "What the hell do you think?!" He bellowed, wanting to hang up the phone immediately. Instead he took a moment to breath in deeply to calm himself.
"Everything is covered in mud. There are some people trapped! MY PEOPLE are trapped!" This was said in barely a whisper. "Everyone else fled the scene, Mudslide is gone, I'm beaten up, my friend is trapped and... just get a rescue crew in there. Save those people!"

"Right. Where are you?" Charles asked, as in his office he gave the go ahead to Jim to get the rescue crew in.
Wesley blinked and looked up. Erol knew someone to demand that sort of thing from? The girl had started crying again at the upset voice and he held her closer. He turned to the pilot, who held up a hand without Wesley saying anything. Wesley hesitated and nodded, then turned back around in his seat.

"I'm leaving the scene." Erol responded with less venom in his tone. He noticed the girl crying and didn't wnat to upset her more than he'd already did.
Sighing softly, there was a moment of pause before he spoke again. "If they find a man... Rayborn. He should have his information on him, his wallet. I want to know. I don't care what condition he's in, I need to know." With that, he couldn't bare speaking anymore or he might go off the handle. He only barely noticed the pilot and Wesley as he awaiting any information on the phone.

There was some hesitation on the other end of the phone, then Charles proved that he could indeed be human, "Alright. I'm sorry it was a bad first encounter. Please call me in the next 24 hours to let me know how you are doing." He said his goodbyes, then hung up.
Wesley gave Erol a worried look himself, but thought it wise at this point to remain quiet. They sat in silence the remainder of the flight - not too long. They landed on the top of a house that was equipped for the helicopter. He jumped down with the girl then waited for Erol, "You can stay at my place for now, if you'd like." He offered
