Taka: Because JD-kun is no longer here, I place this chapter on a semi-Hiatus. Kaori, Colnel, Fenrir and Rayna are free to RP in other chapters with the experience they gained from this quest included. However they can still RP in this thread, they just have the freedom to play elsewhere as well. Taka will fill in Fell's turn. But until that time that JD-kun returns this sticky will not be deleted. --- Chapter 2x: Futile Resistance Location: Bern/Lycia Border Participants: Fell, Kaori, Colnel, Fenrir, Rayna Story: Fell, a Wyvern rider from Bern, was ordered to escort an Etrurian Troubadour named Kaori across Lycia and back to Etruria. But the drums of war beat. Though ordered to stay neutral, it appears they will be unable to avoid the conflict much longer. Kaori takes refuge in an abandoned fortress. Ostia has persued them this far and it seems that they are intent on stopping the pair. (If Silver's on)A young Mage named Rayna has since escaped danger when traveling with Lord Finn's party some time ago, and has made her way all the way to the Bern border with help from Pherae. A mercenary patrolling the Bern/Lycia border, Colnel happened to come across the distressed pair and also joins the fight. A wandering mage named Fenrir also decides to throw his lot in. Objective: Survive for 10 turns. Note: If you would like to join this mission, PM JDI or Takako. arrow Fell: Equipped Iron Lance Attack: 13 (minus enemy def) AS: 6 Hit Rate: 94 (minus enemy evade/spd) Avoid: 20 CRIT: 2 arrow Colnel: Equipped Iron Sword Attack: 13 (minus enemy defense) To Hit: 97 (minus enemy speed) Speed: 7 Defense: 5, Resistance:2 Crit: 4 arrow Kaori: Equipped Heal Staff Magic: 6 + 10 = 16 HP per use Speed: 7, Luck: 7 Defense: 3, Res: 6 arrow Fenrir: Equipped Fire Attack: 13 (minus enemy res) To Hit: 99 (minus enemy speed) Crit: 4 Speed: 9 Def: 4, Res: 5 arrow Rayna: Equipped Fire Attack: 10 (minus enemy res) To Hit: 98 (minus enemy speed) Crit: 3 Speed: 8 Def 4, Res 4 All units add +20 to Avoid (aka Evade) if standing on a Pillar, +10 if in a forest.

Prologue: Having left Bern castle, Kaori and Fell have reached the Lycian border.
Kaori's horse, a gentle brown mare, trots quietly through the forest.
I can't stand this quiet. Fell-san, say something!!
Though he had been talkative enough while she had seen him at the castle, during the journey he had been silently brooding unless barking at her or scolding her for making too much noise.
She glances over at her escort, who is riding his Wyvern, Hawk, nearby.
He notices her and frowns.
"What do you want?!"
Kaori shrinks back hurtfully. Then she lashes out.
"What's your problem?! Ever since we've left you haven't been treating me like a proper lady. You're supposed to be my escort. The Lord King ordered you! So that means you have to listen to me!"

"Listen, there's no reason for me to escort you. There's a perfectly legitimate battle happening right now and someone else is getting my kills! Listen, normally, I'd have no problem babysitting one such as yourself, but..." Fell was getting tired of the Troubador. All she ever seemed to do was whine.

JDI Listen, there's no reason for me to escort you. There's a perfectly legitimate battle happening right now and someone else is getting my kills! Listen, normally, I'd have no problem babysitting one such as yourself, but... Fell was getting tired of the Troubadour. All she ever seemed to do was whine. Kaori cringed internally again at Fell's words. She knew she was an annoyance to him, but couldn't he at least be a little kinder? But she wouldn't show it, never. Did all boys care so much about battle...?She thought of her brothers and wanted to cry. Fell looked at her and noticed the tears welling up in Kaori's green eyes. He was about to say something biting to hide his embarrassment, but unfortunately was interrupted by the sound of whizzing arrows. Kaori shrieked. "Bandits!" She felt that utter sense of helplessness at being surrounded, but not yet being able to fight on her own. A part of her wished she could help fight, maybe then Fell would look at her as less of a burden... "There's a fortress over there! Get in, quick!" Fell had Hawk shield a distressed Kaori with his wings as she galloped her horse into the fort.

"You know, even though I wanted to get involved in the fight, the front is no place for a lady, especially one of your noble rank. It seems that we may be here for a while. Please, make yourself comfortable while I go to fight a far inferior enemy."Kaori looked as Fell inched foward, blocking the doorway to the fort. "Well, you are correct that I am a noble lady." She paused. "But... I want to be of some help too. I mean... I want to learn faster. So I can fight someday..."She looked at him. He was staring steadily forward determinedly. She envied his confidence, and maybe even secretly admired it. Not that she'd ever admit it. She stayed put on her square and waited.

(Oh, I'm not sure if I'm here, so, just in case I am....)
"Bandits in the forest AGAIN?!?!?!"
Rayna was irritated. She was lost in an abandoned fortress and heard bandits screaming. Then, it sounded like she heard a female voice talking to somebody or something. Rayna decided to ignore it just in case it was another bandit trying to confuse somebody. Then, she heard the voice again mention something about bandits attacking them, and she knew that somebody was in the fortress being attacked.
"Oh dear, I hope their all right, and I hope I'm not too late to help....."
(Rayna moved to K-5)

Colnel moves to J8 (Assuming he isn't recruited yet)
He makes his way to them slowly. He could not be heard but then he takes a step on a cracked tile
"hmmm....Looks like you guys could use some help?
He rests his sword on his shoulder. He looked like a bandit, with the clothes he was wearing since he lives on the plains. His green eyes examine them both. He looks over Fell first.
"So I man who rides dragon kind, I guess you may not need my help" He then looks at Kaori noticing her on horseback and with a staff. He wasn't to familiar with troubadors "A mounted cleric? Something tell me you guys really dont have that much money do you?"
He porbaly sounded more like a bandit now then anything. He then shakes his head
"I cant stand men who attack women. Looks like I will help you. Since you dont know how well I fight, I wont ask for payment of my services till we stop them from advancing, sound fair?"

OOC: Does this count as Bern? As in, in the house thread, do the enemies get -10 tohit? Do we also get +1 defense on forests and pillars as in the game? IF tradign vulneraries, do we haev to trade the whole 3 set or can we trade one at a time?

Fenrir had spied about 10 potential battlemen. Employees of the arena to be, he thought.
"Hey! COme one, come all! THe arena is getting packed and we wish to egt things underway. DO what you do best...and earn gold for it!"
He walked over to an archer. "I see that bow of yours looks decent. How's about you give it a test in the arena?"
HE heard a twang.
"Gah! My mantle! You dented it! Fool, I only wanted to offer you a job. WE shall see what you do now."
Fenrir retreated back to the wall. (to I-8 ) He needed cover. He was no brawling mongrel.
OOC: Btw, to make things easier, my avoid rate is 17, and my atk speed with fire is 8.

OOC: No, it takes place on the Lycian side of the western Bern border. You don't get extra defense, just 10 avoid for forest and 20 for pillars. You can trade one vulnerary at a time. Please attempt to calculate your own battles.. your stats are already listed at the top. I know you signed up for this first, but another mage (Silver) is already here too so if I think you're not doing as good of a job, then I'll take you out of this chapter. Got it? Just kidding. You're both already in, plus I'm too damn lazy to edit the map AGAIN.
