Zanarkand
Is a city from Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. It is a city of endless lights, one that never sleeps. There were two Zanarkands: the real Zanarkand that was annihilated by Sin at the end of the Machina War against Bevelle 1000 years ago, and the Dream Zanarkand, which was the exact reproduction of what Zanarkand was before its destruction, directly from the memories of its former inhabitants. Dream Zanarkand is Tidus's home, Zanarkand is Shuyin's home.

The scene lights shimmering beneath the cloak of the night sky was exhilarating. The city of Zanarkand was bursting with life, people smiling and running down the streets, as laughter hung lightly in the air. Everyone was headed towards the Blitz Ball tournament, it appeared, and Alice should know. She'd planned it.
The girl swiftly passed the crowds down towards their mutual destination, books clutched tightly against her chest, her glasses glinting off white light that hid her eyes, her feet planted perfectly still on her latest version of her personal hover-board: Excellion. The elegant device hummed softly in the wind as it whisked her at a blinding speed eight feet above ground.
A large gathering would be the perfect place to collect her data; she needed only a few more before she could get her ship up and running. Besides, at the moment, running away from work didn't seem so bad. A little patience was all she needed, and she'd be out of here in no time. She'd received her cue, and show time was close approaching. A grin appeared on the girl's features, and she stomped heavily against the panels, and zoomed off at a reckless speed.

The large dome grew closer into view, and the young scientist's speed did not decrease as she got nearer her supposed destination. Her image was but a blur as she zoomed past the gathering citizens, a flurry of white, grey, and black against the sparkling night.
Alice briefly glanced down at the watch on her wrist, then quickly returned her gaze in front of her. Three minutes. She had three minutes before things would be put into action, and that was her time. The wind blew strands of her ice white hair into her face as she sped even faster down the streets, her feet practically cemented to the device that carried her. Her arms tightened around her books, her movements like that of a ghost to the naked eye.

A laugh suddenly escaped from Alice's lips, and her eyes sparkled. Moments later, her vision blurred completely--which was strange, since she had designed the glasses she wore herself. It was supposed to give her perfect detail regarding her surroundings even at high-speed. It took a while for her to notice that she was... crying?
"What in the world?" her voice came out, broken as if she'd been crying a long time. She reached one small hand up to her face to wipe the tears away with the base of her wrist, utterly bewildered. Then, realization struck her. "Another one?"
That was it, another one had shut down. "Where?" Midgar, a neighboring world, not too far away. "Am I too late?" Only choice left is to gather the life-data and preserve it. Two hours. "Understood." And at that, Alice angled Excellion, the device humming tensely, towards the sky and disappeared into the night.
And so her soul drifted off, its essence seeking the endangered fragment of her life trapped in Midgar.
