ok, this is a common question. The reason God created humans in the first place was so he could have a relationship for us. That is our purpose, along with doing God's will. God has a plan and you are part of it. Falling in love and wanting to get married and have a family is just the way he made us. it's a gift from God. and we're not really leaving it behind when we die. we're going to a better place, and we're living with God and worshiping him for eternity. and later on our spouses and family (hopefully. if they believe) will join us. we're not really leaving anything. It just seems like that to the people still on earth. when you die, you'll see your family again, but time won't really seem to pass. (hard to imagine, I know). and just so you know, I have learned that death is just another miracle of life. a bittersweet one for the family still stuck on earth, but the deceased is in a better place. they get to go to HEAVEN of all places. wow. just try to imagine that joy, but you probably can't even start to wrap your head around it.
and in response to your question: I think you still would be. on earth you were one in God's eyes, so why would that change after death?

:/ If we get re-united with our spouses when we die, what happens to people who marry someone else after their first husband or wife dies?

GuardianAngel44 you know that if the mods see your sig their going to ban you again, right? No, as long as I don't commit any offenses on this account, it'll stay around. The mods already know that Mendori's in Gaia. x) All the admins hate me. They're willing to let the staff members (site devs) ignore gaian rules to ban me. Sigh. Why am I not a moderator? I USED to be in this guild. Besides which, I have a ******** of experience moderating and captaining guilds. PLUS, this guild needs major fixing up. Like in the front page, and all the stickies.

Matthew 22:30 When people rise from the dead, they will not marry, nor will they be given to someone to marry. They will be like angels in Heaven
In this verse, It states we don't get married in Heaven, so what difference does it make if we get married in Heaven or on Earth. In the end, We won't be with out Husbands/Wives in that context in Heaven. It states our center of focus will be the God in Revelations I think it's 7:17. also I read somewhere [[I totally forgot where and as soon as I find it, I'll post it]] where it talks about what to do if your spouse dies. It says that it is okay to Marry their brother/sister and if they die and so on. It follows by saying that In Heaven, you're focus will be on God, not a husband or wife.
So, I don't think the whole Marriage deal will be an issue.

It just doesn't seem fair to me that we have to leave it. o and i have a question. when u die will u still be married when your spouse gets to heaven too? okay so i dont know if your question has been satisfied, but i want to give this a try. And unfortunately i dont have my bible with me so i can give versus...but here it goes... So God loves us, he created us for his pleasure, this is his world, and all his creation. But he says in genesis that it isnt good for us to be alone, so he created a spouse for us. And he loves us so he allowes us to love and he gives us the ability to make our own choices. And hopefully when you fall in love with Jesus you will understand that he's more than enough to satisfy you, and heaven is a glorious place where we worship him continuously. I dont think we even have bodies when we go to heaven, but if we all go to heaven - our families and all we get to aaall worship him .. umm i think thats all i got...pm me if u wanna talk. biggrin i hope i helped

At least hell's warm, heaven's far too cold. And there are loads of interesting people in hell. Heaven only has the benine and they're no fun.

Galad Damodred stare The fire and brimstone is just a metaphor, you know. The entire Bible is just a metaphor for the lack of imagination in mankind. Think about that. It's really unoriginal...
