Does anyone in this guild want to name their kid(s) after famous Shakespeare characters? Personally, I can't think of any male character names I'd give a boy, but for a girl I like Beatrice, Viola, Desdemona, and Juliet. If I ever have a boy I'm naming him Atticus, after Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. heart

I would name my boy Titus... it just sounds so masculine ^ ^
I also like Hamlet... so I would name my son Hamnet after Shake's son.

I'm not sure I ever want to have kids, but if I did, I might pick a name from Shakespeare. Desdemona, Viola, and Ophelia are all beautiful names for a girl. For a boy I guess I'd have to pick Benedick... I don't know, there are others. I like way more names from Shakespeare than I would ever have children, though.

There seems to be a little lack in names for boys. What about Demitrius from A Midsummer Night's Dream? I always liked that one.

y'know, it's kind of funny that you all should mention these names... because I know a family with three kids where the baby boy is Atticus (from To Kill A Mockingbird), the younger daughter is Cordelia, and the older daughter is Miranda. Needless to say, the mother is an English teacher. 3nodding
I don't think I'm going to have kids, but I've always like Helena and Juliet. I love Romeo, for a guy's name, but I'd also like to think of just how a child would react to being named Romeo. That could end up as a LOT of teasing in gradeschool...

Guy's name: Mercutio, Tybalt, Lysander Girl's name: Ophelia, Helena, Juliet
Now, yes, I know Tybalt = bad, but you have to admit, nice name.
As well, my first daughter will be named Isabel, not a Shakespeare character (I don't think at least) but I LOVE that name. Of course, first I need to graduate university, meet a good girl, fall in love, and marry her, but that's a whole other story.

I like the names Portia and Jessica from "The Merchant of Venice", for a girl and maybe Brutus for a boy (sounds tough).
My nephews already took the names of William and Augustus. (my own real name is after Julius Caesar's Mother, Aurelia)

Well recently I found out that Adrian and Aaron are two names used in Shakespeare's works (I don't know which ones at the moment) and those are my two favorite boy names(I also like Mercutio and Hamlet). I like Ophelia, Phebe, Alice or Kathrin for a girl.

^.^ I'd love to name my future children after Shakespeare characters, but I have this gnawing feeling that they wouldn't like me so very much when they grew older. As far as boy's names go, I'm rather fond of Tybalt. For a girl: Viola or Helena.

Absolutely have to! If I ever have a son, I'm naming him after the Master himself! (Okay, and Twilight....): William Edward.
There's a family name for girls that's been handed down through four generations, so....If I had more than one, I'd definitely go exploring. Although, most of the good female characters die!
