Clearly the world isn't perfect. One would have to be very naive to think otherwise. However, opinions vary on how the world should be changed. What do you think the bigggest problem(s) in the world are right now and how do you think you as a person, your country, and the world as a whole should try to fix it?
^^^^MJ is having a thoughtful day, and is curious to see what everyone thinks.
I personally believe the biggest problem in the world is the value of the material over life. There are countless people killing each other over oil & resources, people fighting over land because it's "holy" when, despite its significance it is ultimately just land. While these things are important, is it worth killing others to have? Unfortunately, I also believe this is the hardest problem to solve. While you can send money and food overseas, it is more difficult to change one's mind set let alone that of the entire world. On a personal level, I would like to one day (when I have a job and money) donate regularly to a peace organization that sends missionaries over seas. I believe our country as a whole should refuse to trade with other countries that have slavery, discriminate by color or sex, and that are involved in a war of any kind. While one my argue that this could result in the betrayal of our allies, it is necessary to point out that when the U.S was founded it was meant to be isolationist. While barring trade will not solve all world problems, it may have a significant effect. I believe that the U.S should use its power for the good of the world as a whole. I don't believe that the world will ever reach a genuine, 100% peaceful state. But I believe through several peace treaties and global peace alliances (there is probably a technical term for this, what I mean if that other countries should band together in refusing to interact in all forms with countries that are not at peace so that the affect is greater) that we can form a more perfect world.

The world's biggest problem? Apathy and nonchalance. If people gave half a s**t about other people things would be better.

Second. But you forgot the collapse of corporate giants such as Wal-Mart that keep the working man down. (that sounded kinda like the sixties... and I'm 14 smile )
