I've had it up to the hair on my head with being unable to sleep.
Some nights I'll fall asleep, and then I wake up for some stupid reason, then cannot go back to sleep. At all. No matter how hard I try.
It really is annoying.
How am I supposed to have a life if I can't sleep?
What is wrong with me?!
If anyone has any advice at all on what the issue might be and how I can help myself sleep, please tell me. I'm desperate.

If you have an ipod, or some mp3 player, put one of the joy of painting episodes on there.
You'll fall asleep and quite possibly stay asleep pretty quickly. surprised

if only t'were that simple.
I'd say it's stress, but before mom and dad left this morning, dad gave me these homeopathic stress-relief pills that he bought. he said they work great, so I guess I could try that.
It's 8:30 now and I haven't slept since 1:30 this morning...good lord I'm messed up right now. D:

Youre anxious. Thats as far as I can tell. You like tea, yes? Ask your mom if she can buy some sleepy-time tea. Its made from chamomile. It calmed me a bit. Its better than drugs..
I think Im so anxious because I have to be in bed at a certain time and I hate it. At least you dont have to get up for anything important. D:

My suggestion would be to make sure you can get into bed around a half an hour before you actually want to be asleep. You'd be surprised how much easier it is to fall asleep at 9.30pm than at 1.30am.
I usually either read a little or write before I go to bed. It really helps slow my brain down so that I can sleep. I don't know how well it'll work for you, but I know with me focusing on something else ( for example a book, I'm reading LoTR 1 right now ) distracts me from my own thoughts and allows me to sleep.
You might also want to look at your bed and bedroom. Do you feel comfortable in them? I used to have serious issues falling asleep. Then I moved a bunch of the pillows and stuffed animals I had sitting on my bed. I was feeling very crowded, but once the bed was opened up, i felt far more secure and fell asleep easier.
Hope that helps.

chamomile tea helps if you like the taste...
Try cutting back or cutting out all together drinking or consuming sugary or caffinated food-stuffs b4 bed. It can wire you and give yah da jitters.. and racing thoughts.
Being comfortable in your sleeping environment is important...
I find that listening to a soothing/or boring/ or classical music helps dull my brain into sleepy-time thoughts or lack there of...
sometimes I write a chapter for one of my fanfics or a personal story or poem or whatever or if something is on my mind i'll blog it even if i set it to private so that no one else can read it.. It gets it out of my brain for the night so i can get some rest.
Try any of these things if you're so inclined... I hope this helped... Insomnia sucks! I have been up for days b4 and I don't recomend it! neutral

just relax dont TRY to go back to sleep, let the darkness cover you like a quilt and let your bed become a part of your own body it works for me because i cant keep my eyes open when im lying down so i feel nothing and my brain slows down another way is to stare at one spot on the ceiling/wall and think of a peaceful memory, but only that memory i have alotta other suggestions but i need my sleep so mif you need them pm me

Reading something you enjoy does help alot..Especially when you are all cozy in your bed.. Comfort is an issue as well when you aren't comfy.. I would not suggest medication for the fact being is that it can be addicting.. Drinking something warm does help though whether it be warm milk or tea.. For me caffeine actually doesn't wire me up it puts me to sleep..lol But like another person has said try to cut out all that before bed.. Though I don't know if I should be one to talk cause I am an insomniac myself..lol.. sweatdrop

My best guess would be that there is something that is bothering you. Things that you think you haven't done yet, so it haunts you in your sleep. But that is just an estimated guess, because i am more nocturnal as it is, so other than that, i have no idea

you might just be thinking too much. i get that way a lot. you can get medication to help you sleep. just talk to your doctor and they can probably hook you up with something.
