Eye-Witness Reports
On the ground in NH
I am outside a Nashua, NH precinct and from the looks of it here, Paul will do decently well, we are getting waves and thumbs up on a pretty consistent basis. However, McCain seems to be doing much better unless Paul supporters are being quiet about their support. Also at this time Hillary seems to be dominating on the Democratic side. Many people are just getting out of work so there is plently of time for things to change. I am making these statements solely based on the reactions of people walking in and out of the polls and people driving into the parking lot, to the different groups of people holding candidates signs outside. Go Ron Paul!!

Though I left NH yesterday, I'm keeping in contact
with a few of the guys still there. Anthony tells me
that the campaign HQ in Concord is packed and everyone
is making phone calls reminding favorable Ron Paul
voters to get to the polls. He says they've nearly
completed their list of thousands.

He also tells me that Jeremy is working a polling
place outside of Gilford, NH where some of us Texas
volunteers canvassed the entire week and he has been
checking off 100's of names of Ron Paul supporters who
made it to the polls and voted.

If I remember correctly, in Iowa Dr. Paul was getting between 5 and 11 percent fairly consistantly. It's really different looking at the New Hampshire statistics - he's getting as much as 25% in some counties and nothing in others.

Edit: Woah, 34% in Richmond county.

(I know this could be a "win a battle, lose the war" thing ... but still that's awesome!)

I'm a little surprised to 5th as the phone polls had him at 3rd and 4th, and exit polls were confirming that. There's talk of voter fraud. This early in the campaign, too. Damn. mad

I doubt there was enough voter fraud to overly affect the vote. There are a lot of small towns here in New Hampshire. I'm visiting my folks in Dublin and they tell me that many of the people with homes here are out-of-staters' vacation homes, leaving about 400 full time residents. There are a number of towns with similiar population levels. I just don't think it's conducive to a smaller candidate like Paul. We need to do what we can to raise further awareness of Paul so that he'll do better in rural areas of other states.
