In case you don't visit my profile to read them, here is some of my poetry... sweatdrop
A Sonnet:
Wilting Hearts
The shadows cast by fervent dreams reflect The scorching sanguine secret’s racing pulse Which drowns the cries of Love with sinful force. A prelude to an act which God rejects. The cordial bonds will break and fear project Upon the souls of lovers on this course And left they’ll be with feelings of remorse For soaring blood so rank with ill intent.
Yet love cannot grow strong without the tests That men and women place upon themselves By dancing to a tune at Lust’s behest. And so a romance needs to well invest O, Not in the desires, but that which delves The love to depths beyond a mere int’rest. ____________________________
I Find it Hard to be at Peace (in response to the US in Iraq)
I find it hard to be at peace When trouble lurks ‘round ev’ry bend And They still ask our strength to lend And so we go to fight a war. I find it hard to be at peace When friends are lost and fam’lies torn.
Where never I would go to stay Our loved ones go there anyway. The battles rage on overseas… I wonder how they maintain hope. I find it hard to be at peace While soldiers search for ways to cope With aching hearts and sun scorched souls As I at home read the death tolls.
I myself will never be One of those who bear their load. The strain would be too much for me – To work so hard and never cease. Their valiant efforts lain to waste. I’ll never find myself at peace While they are bound to winding roads While they with hostile sneers are faced. But they can rest assured of this: Each moment they are sorely missed.

I find it hard to be at peace was my favorite, for obvious reasons >.>
I go in september. Hell, that's 6 weeks away. I almost feel as if time's coming to an end, and I'm not even infantry. Hell, I'm maintanence, and may never be in harms way. But a year away from my newlywed wife? Away from my home, family, and culture? Working gods know how many hours a day in heat to rival hell itself? Not looking forward to it. Good news is, I get done with that, I'm halfway done with my first contract. I know a few months from now it'll become just another day at the job, but I cannot see that now.
