I know this isn't directly Mm related, but it's not uncommon when the story environment has more of a fantasy flavor, like Felarya. That place has fire succubi and mist faeries, and all kinds of stuff. Also, it's fun!
That, and I have to ask this question to everyone.

Tsk tsk. This belongs in the chatterbox...
actually, I am not sure as such, but it will get more notoriety here. I typically end up being a fire character because I am so passionate, but I never really choose fire. I think that a balance of elemental understanding is the key to strength and most of my favorite characters use some bits of all of the basic elements. I voted fire.

Yeah, I'll move it to the chatter box eventually, but that place is largely ignored sweatdrop
I chose wind. Usually people choose fire or earth more for their destructive properties, but I like to look at utility, too. Flying is an awesome plus xd
Also I'd like to be able to change the weather.
Create remote sonic booms... to scare people I guess.
Other stuff I'll try to think of later. Right now I need food and sleep!

I'm usually the Darkness, Ice, or Electricity person. Darkness and Ice because I tend to be a bit aloof and quiet in real life (and like the associated powers), Electricity because... well, I grew up watching Pokemon, and seeing a little rodent coursing way too much lightning through Team Rocket every episode has that kind of effect on you. (Also, Lightning pwnt in Mystic Heroes.)

Yeah, ice is a favorite of mine, too. There's a lot of great stuff you can do w/ it. That, and ice is pretty. But personally I hate the cold. It cuts through me and steals my body heat away cry I'm always uncomfortable in dry, cold weather.

Ha I deal with the cold quite well, but I know how to dress for the occasion... I dont mind the cold, I just hate the wind.
This isnt meant to be a dis to Foxby, but I wish people could pick from the four elements more. All of the other ones were just added to make video games more diverse. Ok maybe not, but I will do some research into that.
The funny thing, my favorite element is probably Hydrogen.

I live in Wisconsin. When Hell is full, they start sending the stupid people here. >.< But we know full well how strong Ice is as an element-- you have to have a natural immunity through your family having lived here for a few generations, people that move here wear sweatshirts in summer. xD
Also, Ninja, who said those are the four elements? You? ^.^;; Also not meant to be a diss.

Foxby Also, Ninja, who said those are the four elements? You? ^.^;; Also not meant to be a diss. Well, it's generally based off of more ancient systems of the elements, like the Aristotelian elements or the eastern system which also include metal. A lot of RPG's have taken a lot of liberties, though, including other things like: Light Dark Time Gravity Arcane Maybe a few others. But the traditional system has the base 4 listed above.

Ice, gotta be Ice. I prefer being cold to being hot, in fact, I can't stand heat. Room temperature is a little too hot for me actually. I thrive in the winter, and hate the summer.

Yeah, it was Aristotle who popularized the belief that there were four elements that everything in the world was comprised of. I didnt make it up, but that was the original idea some 2000 years ago. There was one more element though, called Aether, that was what stuff in space. All of this was part of larger belief system, developed by Aristotle to explain just about anything.

So... you're basing the 'there are only four elements' belief on... Greece? I'm going by my own tutor, Testicles (as opposed to Socrates and Pericles), and he says there are however many elements you feel like there should be.

It's the ancient Greece system that's normally used. Certainly when dealing w/ fiction and imagination there's much less limit.

Heart! ::throws her ringed hand into the air victoriously:: O.O
I'm sorry... EVERYTIME I hear anything about elements- Captain Planet spins, quite forcefully, into my head. And honestly- Heart was THE lamest element. Is it really even an element? I think they just wanted the little foreign kid to feel like part of the group. With his VERY shitty hair. >.<
:3 Me? I love Earth Always have, always will.
