Here is the place to talk about your Fall/Winter/Whenever shows! I know ours is going to rock this year and I wanna hear about yours!
Did you have a great show in the past? Tell about it!
Our show consists of four seasons and the band's music is actually pulling together in an amazingly awesome way this year. The guard work is fast, furious and freaking awesome!

our fall 2005 show is: -invocation of alberich (we're currently fiddling with counts, faster work, tosses, etc....we have one routine done, but we're changing it cuz the band decided to play painfully slow) -barber of seville (damn pass throughs....i pass through so many people its crazy. so me and the rest of the special front 6 had to change our routines TToTT and its a great song too!) -poet and peasant (we learned most of it today......we added LBCG's signature move into it! YUSS!) -rhapsody in blue (total stripper song. damn trumpets! fwahaha i love them!) -william tell (awesome.}
the whole show is like slow-->FAAAAAAST-->slow-->FAAAAAST-->slow-->FAAAAAAAAST-->FAAAAAAAST-->FAAAAAAST! tis crazy. but not as crazy as spring guard 2005.....man. that music just never slowed down. it was a spanish flamenco kind of thing.....and fall 2004 was like......medium. nothing fast. nothing slow......marching band is so hard now. ><

We're doin' Earth Wind and Fire. 'Tis freakin' awesome!
-In the Stone ('Twas on Drumline! Good song. We've got an awesome dance at the beginning!) -After the Love is Gone (Heck of a lot faster than it sounds.. Much better than the original version, I think..) -Shining Star (Supposedly this is the song where the drumbreak is.. Haven't heard them play it yet..) -September (Possibly one o' my favourite songs.. Really cool, too!) -Let's Groove (Not yet heard this one, either..)

I talked about my show in my intro post, but didn't say much about work.... so here I'll talk more about the work I guess.
We're kinda behind, cause our normal writer dude never showed up at band camp and it ended up the he went home without bothering to tell us. Loser.
1st song: Mostly written by another writer dude. Starts with crazy, roll-around-on-ground-and-possibly-mud dance stuff! At the very beginning of the show! So if it's muddy, we'll be muddy the whole time! W0000000!!! *sarcastic* Then for the rest of the time there's not-too-difficult flagwork. Our freshman are kinda behind this year..... sweatdrop Kinda sucks...
2nd song: the sabres are done with all their work on the field, but the flags are still working out our stuff (no thanks to our loser writer dude). We had a grad of ours come back and write for us. *sigh* So behind....
3rd song: I'm a swing flag in this one.... and once again, my group is going to be the last to be written. The dancers and other flags have already written some of their work, while the swing flags have just gone over second song work every day....
4th song: No idea about this yet! Most likely rifles and flags. No drill or work at all at this point.
Wow, I write too much. My posts are way long... If you read all that, I applaud your patience.... xd

We have a weird show this year. It's called Vetruvian Man (sp?). It's themed on the portrait of the perfect man that I THINK Davinci (sp?) drew sometime. You've probably seen him in a science book somewhere. He's got his arms spread in different positions and his legs spread in different positions. For those who haven't seen this or don't know what I'm talking about, here's the link to the pic. http://www.yeatsvision.com/images/Vitruvian.jpgLike I said, weird show right? The songs we have are titled Mind, Body, and Spirit. We have some pretty neat routine going for them so far and the music is pretty nifty. Here's hoping it turns out as a good show sweatdrop

I don't remember names, but I know we have 42nd Street, something from My Fair Lady, and...PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! *does Dnoopy's happy dance* I just hope we're spinning rifle for Phantom ^^ DeadlyPoison695 We have a weird show this year. Our half-time show will consist of three songs (if we ever get it finished): 1) Brick House- yes! we finally have our routine finished. we are working on drill for it now, but until then the band & guard just stand still and do it. for this one, we use brick flag thingys (they don't have poles, but weights & handles, and we walk on wearing them around our waists - recycled from the red fabric we waved around in Malaguena last year) & rifles. 2) Music of the Night (from Phantom of the Opera)- routine started, but not very far. we had some new sparkly flags made (Yeah!!! finally some new equipment) that have virtually no resistance. 3) Ode to Joy - not even started yet. we are to use swing flags, probably two each since we have enough, fewer guard this year, and probably also our older big flags if we can find someone to switch them on the poles.
We will only get one show this year, but it's better than nothing. Our band is marching this year (last year they didn't), and its a big step. Alas, I will be graduating before they get really awesome.

this year our theme is vampire (i cant remeber the name right now) but its really really cool, 8 of the guard (im one of them) start out in coffins and the show is mostly dance and in the second song we get to seduce the trumpet soloist who is really really hot and im the last guard person (we start out with the 8 rifles and peel off two by two to go to the back of the field) still dance and at the end of that song he throws his cape over me and him and at the begining of the third so i come out at a vampriess. its so exciting!

Our first competition is October 1st!
They aim to have 3 of our 4 movements complete by them. We essentially have the first and second done with small additions needed for the weaponline in both and some for flagline.
Our third movement's music if friggen awesome (I play in band, so I get to hear it first. 3nodding ) Rifle feature! Whee.
I don't know how they expect us to be to par by two weeks, though...

I talked about this fall's show, so now I'll talk about past shows, but not go into as much detail.
Last fall: "The Periodic Table". Original music based on elements and chemistry stuff. We had a tarps painted to look like some of the squares on the Periodic Table of Elements.
Last winter: "Charmed". Not about the TV show! Billy Joel's "She's Got a Way" and "She's Always a Woman". About being a strong female. Loved the show, hated the uniforms. I talk about them in another thread.... Our tarp had a big female symbol on it. You know, the circle with a cross at the bottom?

We've got our first competition this Saturday.. Our BD's pushing to have the entire show set by then.. We've still got to put on 2 songs!! And we need to make up equipment work for those 2 songs! And the remainder of the 2nd song.. We're using hand flags, and they've not got the second flag in for us, so we can't finish it.. Gosh, I don't know if we're gonna be able to do it..

stupidgeniusoo7 -Let's Groove (Not yet heard this one, either..) It's pretty cool. We did that as part of our "everybody" show. Yeah, we have two shows this year, it sucks. The music is really spiffy though. Hope you have lots of fun with it.
