<3 rawr

Name: Hikari
Height: 5'7"
weight: 130 (lean build)
Hair color: purple
Eye color: green
General appearance: She wears yellow tinted glasses, mostly out of habit. There's nothing wrong with her vision. Her hair comes to just below her shoulders. She wears a dark blue (not sure how to describe it) vest like thing with a red tube-top underneath. Her pants are a similar blue, with a studded belt. Her black boots come up to just below her knees, with red studs on the top front and the toe.

Name: Adon Rystell
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 200 lbs (Muscular build, but not to the point where it's blatantly obvious and gross)
Hair: Black, medium length.
Eyes: Hazel, more on the green side.
General appearance: Adon tends to wear dark clothes. He wears a pair of pants with plenty of pockets to store the knives that he always has secreted around his person. His shirt is also a dark black and contains a leather "plate" in front and back to protect him from attacks from either direction. In the leather, there are a few more slots which he has more throwing blades. He also wears a full body length jacket that can hold all sorts of items (blades, multiple coin purses, and other things he may deem necessary to carry). He also carries a pack that he can store almost anything in. The only mar of his appearance is a scar running across his right cheek. Though it is something he doesn't like to talk about.

Edit by Triv: Working on Adon's pixel art now.

Hikari was in a foul mood. All the leads she'd followed for the past month had led her to a dead-end. She leaned over the railing of a footbridge, pouting at her reflection in the water below. She'd been led to this quiet planet and been forced to leave her plasma pistols behind with her brother and her partner on their ship. The two were off right now trying to buy food, but they didn't really have much money to spare. She made a face, crossing her arms and leaning heavily on the railing. Stupid... stupid stupid stupid... I should've just taken a desk job... Cushy desk job... With salary. But no, I had to have adventure... Damn it.

Adon smiled to himself as he walked down the cart path. He saw an...odd looking young lady standing on the bridge he needed to cross to return to town, odd possibly an understatement. He made his way out onto the bridge and got a closer look at her face. She was by no means unattractive, but her clothes were far too outlandish for his tastes. He knew the Sea-Traders came back with some odd items, but this must've been from far, far accross the sea. His natural chivalry wouldn't leave him alone. "Can, I help you miss?"

Hikari stopped her face-making contest with the river and looked up at the man. She hadn't even heard anyone come up behind her. She needed to be more alert, someone with ill intent could've just taken her out.

"Actually... I'm supposed to meet some friends of mine in town... But I'm not familiar with this area. Do you know where the Bowben Inn is?"

Adon chuckled softly and wiped his mouth. "I should think so," he laughed. "I do own it. And it's proper name is The Bowbend Inn and Tavern." He smiled and continued across the bridge. Over his shoulder he waved to her. "Come on, I'll take you right there. It's where I was headed anyway."

She raised an eyebrow, but followed. Her cop instinct told her this was too much of a coincidence, but she just wanted to get off this planet and report in. The sooner she got to headquarters, the sooner they could put some other officer on the case and Hikari might get a mission close to home.

She walked a few steps behind him, keeping him in front of her so that she could keep an eye on his movements. She didn't trust her periphial vision. "Thank you, sir," she said.

At the word "sir", Adon busted out laughing. He continued laughing for a few moments then wiped a small tear from the corner of his eye. "Oh, hon...I haven't laughed that hard in a while. You definitely do not need to call me sir. My name is Adon. That's what everyone calls me. And there's no need to walk so far back there. I promise I won't hurt ya. Come on up here where we can talk like civilized people."

She was a little taken aback at his reaction. She was just being polite, unlike some other officers she could mention. However, she just nodded and sped up a bit to catch up with him. She'd have to rely on her periphs anyway, it seemed. "I'll call you Adon if you don't call me 'hon.'" She grinned, showing she was just joking. At least he didn't call her ma'am. She wasn't that old...

Adon smiled and with a grin spreading wide accross his face asked, "Well then, if I can't call you 'hon', what then may I call you?" He was pretty sure that she had a name, even if she was unwilling to give it.

The two of them continued their way along the trail. The cart-path they are walking on is surrounded by a grass field. The grass is not kept by anyone, yet it remains short from the grazing animals that dare come this close to humans. The occaisional tree sprouts from the luscious green grass and deer can be seen in the distance, their beady, black eyes following the odd pair as they follow the path. Were he hunting, he could easily take one of these deer down and they could have fresh venison at the Tavern tonight. Adon was well known and liked in the town they were headed to, Bestel, because of actions like that. He's been known to have free nights of entertainment and cheap, fresh meat.

"My... my name is Hikari." She noticed the deer. Strange creatures, she'd only seen them in books before. Her planet had long since lost its fauna. The world was mostly concrete now. Its goods and such were brought in via space crafts. She'd never even tasted venison, but she was learned enough to know that it was decent food.

This Adon person seemed nice enough. She relaxed a little bit, but she still kept an eye on him.

Adon noticed her staring at the deer, looking as though she'd never seen them before. They kept walking on, but Adon still took notice of it. They walked on in silence for a while then Adon got bored. He was a very social person and couldn't just let silence sit. "So," he started, "those are some odd clothes you are wearing. You aren't from around here are you?"

She glanced down at herself. She hadn't gotten time to research the clothing of this area, so she was wearing her uniform. Comparing herself to his leather garb, she realized she must truly look peculiar. She needed to think of something fast...

"That's right. I... um... Follow a caravan." Agh, that was weak. She just grinned though, and watched the deer again. The village was coming into view. She'd soon enough be rid of this man and wouldn't have to make anymore excuses. Hopefully, Makeira and Xander had found her some decent-looking clothing. They couldn't do much about her purple hair.. And Makeira would have a difficult time as well, with her light blue locks. Xander had silver hair, so he might habe an easy time... but he was still bound to get looks due to the large X-shaped scar across his face.

Adon chuckled a little. He'd seen and even traveled with a caravan occaisionally on his journeys, and this was outlandish even for those of the Way. It wasn't that she wasn't attractive, it was just...mildly distracting. He just left her to think that she got away with it.

Adon then saw the town. It was far from a city, but it was a trade center none the less. Plenty of out of towners came to Bestel for various reasons, most on their way to the capital city, Thera. Adon ran one of the towns three inns, his being the most profitable in Bestel. He had friends all over the town and in some situations, he had more say than the mayor!

She heard the chuckle and knew he didn't believe her, but she didn't press any further. As they neared the village, Hikari could already hear Xander chastising her for getting separated. Because of this, she didn't hear the rapid footsteps behind her. When she did, it was too late for any reaction except to reach for her pistols, too late remembering that she'd had to leave them behind. The masked figure hit her hard in the side of the head and she went down. She wasn't knocked unconcious, but was dazed. She heard something else get hit, and a body hit the ground. Then she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head... Then... darkness.

((Told ya. I knew just how to get Adon involved.))
