what kind of gear do you all own? do you have your own gear? anything in specific you really want?

i personally own all my own recreational and technical gear. Some highlights of my equipement include 2 Aqualung Legend LX Supremes, my Delta P VR3 computer, and my Dive rite Plate/Wing setup.

i really want a Silent Submergence scooter tho. i enoy the idea of having a Nuke sized scooter that cant pull me at 15+ MPH underwater xd but there like 4000$ sooooo yea, id rather get my Optima Rebreather before that

Let's see...
*goes and checks closet*
I do own my own gear(or, my dad owns my gear technically...)
Well, I have a Pinnacle Fusion wetsuit (5 mm), a nice pair of split fins (atomic aquatic, good quality, quite durable..), a merino lined pinnacle hood, and all that good stuff... oceanic isla bc, and I just dive on single steel 80s, so I don't need to worry too much quite yet about more that many other setups. (I should look at my dive computer to find out what type it is... Is yours one that you can wear on your wrist, or is it connected to your rig?) The scooter sounds nice... but I don't blame you on getting a rebreather first. which reminds me, I was diving in some springs not long ago and there was a rebreather class going on in the cavern, but there were bubbles... some other open circuit divers were puzzling over that as well, they had just been down there when we were getting in... they weren't on open circuit that we know of... others in the class were fine... no bubbles... it was interesting.

bubbles indicate SCR rebreathers, or semi-closed rebreathers. they work slightly differently, based on using your recycled air and scrubbing the loose o2 out and reusing it in the cycle and releasing the Co2. the bubbles you see are Co2. on a CCR, or closed circuit rebreather, it sends the Co2 into a soda lime composite, works on the same principles of a tree, except faster. Co2 hits soda lime and releases o2, throws it into the mix and mixes o2 with diluent for whatever mix you set into the computer.

as for my computer, The VR3 is a decompression computer, wrist mounted, as is actually really cool, it works on the principles that decompression is really boring (averaging over an hour for trimix) so it gives me options to play video games or read ebooks when i enter decompression mode. It also can hardwire to a SCR or CCR and supports trimix, heliox, and neox, and up to 11 mixes. also has an onboard o2 analyzer. plus a color screen makes it awesome! i love the thing ^^

Hmm,, let me see,,
I do not have any thong special,, just the normal stuff,,>.<

-Deep Blue wetsuit (3mm)
-Saekodive, kalibra fins (there great, good quality etc.)
-Beuchat bc
-Saekodive knife
-Buechat octopus
-Saekodive half boots (3mm)
This gear, I all got in a special promotion, it in cluded Dive Master Course and gear for alower price than if you would do it seperate.

This I got myself;

-Suuto Gekko Dive computer
-Pelican Nemo Light C8 ( i do not recommend the new ones, the O ring is on the out side, if you close it to tight the O ring squeezes and could leekin water, if you close it to soft it also is a danger for leeks, its very hardto know when its closed well)
-I have some sleeves, a big one and a small one.
-Wreck reel auto stop
-and a Compas,, (i have 2, but don't know which ones,, i am at work now,,xD)

i honestly dont know why i like reels so much, not to say i use all those reels on each dive, ill only have 1 reel for rec. diving, 2 for tec basic, 3 for trimix and 3 for cave w/ 2 jumper reels and a finger spooler. I just like reels for some odd reason, there fun biggrin

Ok, no laughing at my incredibly old, weird gear.

Oneill reactor full suit (2mm-3mm, I used when I surf)
Aqualung Caravelle yellow fins
Seaquest explorer BCD
Deep See boots (5mm)

Thats pretty much All I have as of now, because I'm getting my certification next summer. Getting my regulator for my birthday and tank for christmas.

Cool gear set up. I feel primative now, at first I thought "Where's the gauges?" but then I remembered you had a wrist computer... lol.

which is, unfortunately, somewhere in the UK right now cause the depth transducer is all messed up. says im at like 1000ft when im acutally at more like... 30ft lol. but i actually have a standard SPG on that rig, on the left side, but its hidden behind my harness in the pic, you can see the HP hose coming off the left regulator to where the SPG is tho, just cant see the SPG
