FALLING STAR
A white meadow stretched out upon miles.
As I was passing by the newly snow-felt tree, I called out into the open "Edward"..
But where was my voice?
I was too cold, too tired to walk any farther.
My legs were beginning to tingle, falling into numbness.
"Edward..." I tried again.
Still, nothing from my voice.
I dropped to my knees, my hands resting around the bark of the stiff tree.
I heard a rustling, but I couldn't fight the light anymore.
The darkness consumed me.

I woke with a start.
The sun was streaming down my window.
I groaned.
How long had I been asleep?
My eyes gandered to my alarm clock and I gasped.
"You've been asleep for nearly three days.
You must have hit your head pretty hard."
I breathed a sigh of bliss, "Edward!"
I jolted out of my bed and into his arms.
"Ow!" I screeched, grabbing my head.
"Maybe Charlie is right, maybe you should go to the hospital.
They have restraints there." He chuckled, but his face became serious.
"What's the last thing you remember?" He asked delicately.
I thought for a moment, "We were chasing Jasper to Portland.
Alice got ahead of us, and we lost her.
You said we were catching up when we got to a clearing, and then..." I felt nauseated.
"Jacob!" I exclaimed. "Is he, is he alright? Where is he?"
"Bella, calm down.
He's fine. I'll... take you to him."
I could hear the reluctance and sadness in his voice,
"But if you are going to, I have one condition."
"Maybe." I said before he could speak.
He waited a moment.
"I'm carrying you....Don't give me that look, Bella.
Your head was bleeding, alright?
The last thing I would want is for you to bleed out while you're walking."
I sighed. "Alright." Oh the things I do for you, Jacob.
