Sunset came with dread, alone on a dark roof was one place Chloe did not want to be, but she didn't know what to do about it. She couldn't see any of the nightmarish ghouls, not wanting to call them zombies to make all of this hell real, but she could still hear faint moans in the distance, a maddening sound. Evening was almost upon the neighborhood, when she noticed a flickering light on the second story of one of the homes.

Jason walked up beside her and knelt down on a brick"Im back,took out 6 of them down there,we're totally safe for the night"He explained to her checking his watch built into his armour"The others should be back soon enough"He said to her smiling and took his mask off revealing his handsome face with browny blonde short hair that spiked up due to the gell wax he used earier.

Despite jumping a little at how silently he came up next to her, she was glad for the company and sighed with relief. Although they had just met, whoever he had been before the virus was released had obviously had some sort of military training as evidenced by the armour and his stealthy movements. He wasn't too bad looking either, definitely someone you wanted with you in an emergency.
"I never introduced myself earlier, my name's Chloe. I'm sorry for my shitty state of preparedness, but I never expected any sort of rooftop sanctuary. Maybe someone left a lamp on when they left, but that house over there has a light on and some shadows moving around." The thought that the movement could have been from the undead did not even cross her mind, it was so unfamiliar. Dead live in coffins, people in homes.

Slowly coming back to her senses at the fact that, yes, other people had survived, people who knew what they were doing, and they also weren't out to kill her was surprisingly nice.
"Yeah, I guess we'll have to go rescue them," she said, thinking of her own rescue. The "self-preservation" light in her head wasn't fully functioning, but that didn't really matter, they were going to cross a street filled with 500 zombies, possibly run through four or five unexplored houses, and scared, isolated home owners. "I guess we should get going..."

It must have been ten feet to the ground, but his hands firmly caught her hips and helped her down. She couldn't see the other man from the lawn, but assumed he was on his way. In her immediate vision, she could only see a couple ghouls hovering around the entrance to the other occupied home, but she was stressed, and just a little scared.

"Come on"He said quietly to her walking into the shade of a burnt down building,he took out his M4 and put a silencer on it then show all of the zombies round the head silently and quickly,there were another group of 14 down the road about half a mile away but they we're a problem yet"He said walking upto the house making sure the zombies we're dead"Hey can you let us in?"He said into the house quite loud and a man with a shot gun came to the door.

He was a tense, bedraggled man, probably nothing more exciting than a bank manager in the "real world," but here he was fighting for his life. Hurriedly ushered into the darkened foyer, he locked the door behind us and gestured for us to be relatively silent. He had a ladder standing the ruins of a staircase. Arriving on the second floor, he turned and said, "Look, I don't know what you all are here for, but I'm relatively safe, and I plan to stay that way. Keep away from my supplies, stay quiet, and say what you plan to do."
"There's another house, a little ways away, and there's people upstairs, but the zombies were breaking in the last we checked. There's a child up there with them," Chloe whispered. "Are you going to help or stay here? It doesn't really matter to us I think."

from the windows in that house.
Then we could have someone pull them up.
And if I am correct, they may only have a few minuets.

"Dammit, I say we go with the pessimist's view and say they've only got a few minutes." Chloe whispered with as much frustration as she could muster. "Thanks for letting us in your house, but is there anyway to get onto the roof? Maybe that'd be a good way to get across..." She held the battered rifle she had been given awkwardly to her chest in a gesture of determination that more closely resembled fear.
