So...... What do you think? Has Harry Potter become.... I don't know.... Too commercial? I mean.... I love the series and all... But the movies are horrible (sorry, but they are) and all of the publicity has kind of killed the series. People won't really read it as much in the future... you know. I mean, now that the series has been finished, I think that it will die off as soon as the movies are all made and Hollywood will have to find another big money maker. I don't know......

Agreed. Although the first few movies weren't that bad.

Yeah, they were pretty good, but once they started switching directors for every movie, things got a little messed up. Did I say a little? I meant a lot. domokun

Nuuu!
I absolutely adore Harry Potter in every way, shape and form.
I do agree slightly with what you're saying about the movies, though. Switching the directors all the time is a big mistake - they should have had a single director sign a full-term contract so that he made all of the movies. A lot was also missed out in the movies, but what do you really expect them to fit in a two and a half hour movie? I'm looking forward to the HBP, and even more to DH. They should be good - if a little lack in storyline, as OoTP was.
I've been reading the books since PS was first published, and I have a first edition of it. Never to leave my side, might I add. I've really enjoyed it as it's gone on, but when the book launch for DH ended, it felt... I don't know. It felt weird. It was all over so quickly.
Good God, I sound obsessed, don't I? x3

I know what you mean. I haven't been following the series from the very beginning, but I have been reading the books for just under ten years. It feels very weird not to have any more books coming out this summer. I am excited for HBP though. They actually have a chance to make this one good, although I always get my hopes up and it never happens. crying

I like it very much... I was one of the first in Poland who read that - long before the Potter-fever started... It has a spirit smile ... By the way I'm very angered about how Snape was treated - he was my Fauvorite (yeah I know - strange taste wink )...

No, I know what you mean. I guess all of us had a feeling that Snape was actually good and that made him... I don't know. Endearing, I guess, but that doesn't seem like the right word.

Wll I wast talking something else: He was a wonderfull, sarcastic, ironic werido, and she chaneged him in some kind of NewAge-Werter version... You know "oh I was so in love" "Oh I ever wanted to do was to protect the son of my beloved one" - so disgusting... I liked him better when he was just a nasty teacher - but a nasty teacher with a great style...

blulife28 Agreed. Although the first few movies weren't that bad. *nods* I really enjoyed the first movie -- of course, don't ask me when the last time I saw the movie was ^^;; -- and the second was pretty good. The fourth one was really terrible, though, in my opinion. The fifth... I don't know. It didn't follow the book in some parts, but at the same time, I enjoyed it. During the fight at the very end, I kept thinking "this isn't what happened in the book at ALL, but it's still really cool!" I heard they're keeping that director on the for the sixth movie too? Maybe the movies will get better... at any rate, I shall continue to see them. I need my Harry Potter fix somehow razz

As we are talking about the films I liked Philosophers Stone, tan I was greatly dissapointed with the Chamber, but the Prisoner was a bit of fun... After Azkaban it's getting worse...

Yes, the movies are getting worse and worse, but I still watch them. The first one was the best in my opinion. The 5th one,I was mostly upset beacuse they didn't have enough of Tonks, my favorite character.

And in the 5th movie they didn't even say the whole prophecy! And Harry didn't talk to Kreacher before he left for the Ministry! That was so infuriating! evil

So for now the fifth was the wort one... I wonder what they'll do with the sixt part maybe they just slip over the Snape's past, and cancel Slughorn... And yeah Tonk was treated really badly in films...
