In Episode 20 of Tsubasa Chronicle, Sakura sings an amazingly beautiful and moving song that made me cry the first dozen times I listened to it (in japanese, reading the english translation, mind you). Then I had the displeasure of listening to Yui Makino's attempt at an english version of the song. Let's just say that, while it may be pretty in its own right, it isn't nearly as moving as the original, and doesn't even entirely convey the original point. So, what do I do about it? Well, re-write it myself, of course!

In red will be the original Japanese lyrics, pauses in each line noted by a /. Underneathe each line in green will be my re-written lyrics, broken down the same way so you can get a better idea how the song is meant to be sung.



Here's the literal translation of the japanese lyrics. I've tried to stick as close to them as I could.

The faint scent of tears

Like I said, kinda pretty in its own respects, but still rather meh.
