Hi my name is Avrie I have done some free diving in off some beaches in Va but I really want ot move into scuba diving full time. I live in Ma, does anyone know some good schools in Ma. I can hold my breath about 2 minutes 30 seconds and I am in excellent shape. Also I am definately not as technical as I thought I was, so many people here know ALOT about scuba diving. kind of intimidated a bit

For example, a PADI course wont go over physics and physiology of diving until your divemaster course, whereas NAUI actually goes over that in there open water course. only downfall to NAUI courses is it takes longer and you typically need t be in better shape then for a PADI course do to the swim tests, however, if your in good shape, then that shouldnt be a huge problem ^^

Whereas, PADI and SSI are more for the simple diver, but offer higher up classes if need be.

True.... the SSI Open Water Course took about 2 days of poolwork, but a few days in the classroom, along with 2 days diving in actual dive locations. so it probably is about a total of 6 days...
