Hello! Digital Media would like to invite you to join in our new fortnightly competition "The Word Contest." At the beginning of each fortnight, a common adjective will be chosen from an online random word generator. The best representation of the word will win, which means be creative!
For example, if the word was "gloomy" taking a picture of someone crying, or editing your house to make it haunted would both be acceptable.
The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, each specializing in at least one field. After comments and ratings are collected, i will make sure each entrant is rated on the same scale and determine the winners. This contest is open to everyone, of all different medium interests (bar traditional media.)
Prize money depends on the amount of entrants each fortnight. If you want to win as much gold as possible, then you have to a. submit a winning entry and b. encourage as much people as you can to join.

Please allow a few days for a winner to be announced.

What kind of a competition would this be without rules?
General:
>Follow ToS
>Don't quote entire posts from this topic
>You must have atleast 10 posts in this guild to enter (Head over to random chatter to up your post count ;D)
>Please only use images that you have either permission or the rights to use
>Only guild members and crew may enter
>Judges may not enter
>Traditional media is not aloud, unless mixed with another digital medium (for example, hand drawn picture coloured in Photoshop would be ok)
>You may submit an unlimited amount of entries, but only the best 5 will the valid (in other words, the best five will be judged, and 2.5k added to the gold pot.)
>Similarly, dud entries to jack up the gold pot will not count as valid entries. Put some effort into it.
>Upload your entry to a site such as photobucket (for photographs/graphics/images), boomp3 (for music compositions) or anything you can submit a link to.
>Entries can be posted here, or sent to `Roguey.
>Cheating results in an instant ban from the competition and the guild.

The level of interest will determine the amount of prize money for each fortnight. I will contribute ***500g per valid entry into the prize pool, plus 500g each fortnight to get the pool started. The pool will then be divided between the winners, as listed.
1st place: 60% of gold pot
2nd place: 30% of gold pot
3rd place: 10% of gold pot
For example, if there were 19 valid entries that would mean the gold pot adds up to 10k (19x500+500) This would then be split up to the winners, 1st place would receive 6k (60/100 * 10 000), 2nd place would receive 3k (30/100 x 10 000), and 3rd would receive 1k (10/100 x 10 000).
You do not have to pay an entry fee, though all this gold is coming out of my pocket so it is appreciated if you can donate to the guild mule Digital Media
Current gold pot amount = .5k
***Price per valid entry subject to change, depending on how much funds i have.

Well i'm not too sure on judges as yet. I know i will be averaging scores and sorting out winners. I was going to post around the GJC looking for some people. But if people from this guild want to apply, be my guest. I might write up an application form if you're interested X3

If only one person enters, then they will automatically get 1k.
If two people enter, then 1.5k will be split between them.
Keeping in mind only two people have expressed interest so far. :0
