I need something to play, that everyone will like. But I want to like it as much as they do, so I kinda want it to be fun. I mean sure the 3rd etude is fun, but it's not really as fun as other pieces to play. So please help!

(ya I made this so there wouldn't be a long drought)

Something relative short?*never went to a recital for piano before* Everyone will like...something famous then?

I can only think of the Op.10 no.12 as of now.(/burnt out from school) Perhaps one of the mazurkas if you don't want something TOO famous, I guess?

Fryderyk Chopin

maybe. How about polonaise from op 43?

The Black Key Etude is a common favourite by many people, even with general audiences. Most of the faster etudes will be good showstoppers if you can do them justice; 10/4, Black Key, Winter Wind, Ocean, Revolutionary, etc.

Aren't you learning the 2nd Ballade? All the Ballades are wonderful for recitals because of their lyricism and technical display, so you can always do that one if you aren't restricted on time (since you mentioned etude I thought you're looking or something short, but I can't be sure).

Op. 43 is the Tarentelle, not a polonaise.

Sorry. I didn't look it up. I just guessed a number that I remembered hearing. I really did mean the op. 44. It's my favorite polonaise from Chopin. 3nodding

I'm done with the balade also. 3nodding

Done with the Ballade? It's pretty difficult to be "done" with the Ballade. >w<

Why don't you play one of Chopin's Nocturnes? They are incredibly musical.

Good idea. I think that the best ones for performances are the Opus 48 no. 1 (it's so breathtaking, and somewhat virtuoso) and the Opus 55 no. 2.

Um, have you tried the C sharp minor Polonaise? That's a nice one. Opus 26 no. 1, if I remember correctly.

QTF. It's hard to be done with any proper piece. As my teacher would put it, pieces age just like wine and cheese. :3

Quite. I've known people who have spent years perfecting pieces, while it took them only days to "learn" it.
