This isn't a discussion subforum like the rest of the board. I'm hoping to have this board become a place we can use to hang out in other places.
Obviously it's going to be more effective when we have more members, but here's the two uses. If anyone can think of more ways to use this place, please post them on this thread.
One way is to immediately round up people who may also be using the board. This won't really work except at certain times on weekends when we have several members online at once, but hopefully we can reach a point where it will be easier. Here's how it would work:
You'd start a thread called "Cards Anyone?" or something.
And say something like:"hay im in grunny in p00pm4573r3000's room playing cards com play wit me kthxbye"
And then people who check the board can see where you are and come join you if they wish. Don't post a thread if you know you're going to have to leave in a few minutes or something. Also, as a favor to your fellow users, please edit the thread title by adding "Event Finished" or something similar after everyone leaves the room or game you were playing, so people know that no one will be on anymore.
The second way to use this is to schedule an event in advance, like the movie thread already in progress. Start a thread to see who's interested, schedule a time, and then make it happen. Currently, this is a far better method for hanging out with your fellow members, since odds are there won't be anyone online at the same time you are otherwise. Again, please edit the title after the event so we know that it's finished. We'll delete old threads periodically.
