From Waiting For the Fairytale to Chasing the Dream I have spent a large majority of my life Staring into life's abyss And I just stared at my reflection Having chances being missed
Because of my own foolishness I suffocated in my own self-absorbed rage And it took too long to realize that Life's answers aren't on the last page
I was a silly little girl And now I am a silly teenager When I look at my own reflection All I see is a stranger
My reputation has been ruined My innocence has been lost My heart has been damaged And I am paying the cost
But I dare not say I regret Because I have made lessons out of my mistakes And I would not be good Without experiencing all the head and heart aches
We must fall in order to fortify We must lose in order to yearn We must break in order to better We must suffer in order to learn
So now I no longer stare into the abyss And wonder when destiny will work its wonder I now run into the streets dancing When the heavens choose to thunder
I no longer hold my breath Because that breath could be my last one I've always wanted to live for the chase And now I finally will run
