My theory of the Jashin is that Hidan in reality isn't immortal, but just lives really, really long. Sort of like the concept of Shinigami in Death Note, every person Hidan kills, their lifespan gets added to his through that 30 minute ritual of his after every fight, and that's why he has to do it. The Spear acts as a sort of medium to transmit the dead person's life into his own body, and that's a reason why he needed to kill a lot of people.

If that were true then wouldn't that be copywright of Death note, somehow, maybe I don't know. It could be very likely that it is possible. I still think he is just immortal.

No, not really. B/c didn't that happen b4 death note came to be. Or was still in the works. But I haven't actually thought of it.

For instance, more than one people have the power to create and manipulate Ice. Wouldn't that be considered copywrite then?
Desert- Death Note first came out in 2003. Naruto first started to run in 1999, the Naruto Return manga has been running since, oh...2005. Hidan starts to appear a year later.

Yes, and plots were still being thrown around at that time before it became what it was today in Naruto Returns. It was originally stated that the Third Hokage was going to be a dog, Naruto was going to be evil then change, etc, etc. It is very possible that Kishimoto could have borrowed things from other sources. In fact, he said himself that he was heavily inspired by the Dragonball franchise.
