Los Angeles is a pretty unforgiving place for mortal men and women. Crime runs rampant in the streets, whores live on the corner, and street hustlers are just as likely to mug you as they are to swindle you. Earthquakes have been more and more frequent as time has passed, fires are a common occurrence, and demon sightings haven't been higher in recorded history.
Yes, demon sightings.
You ask every citizen how they live in Los Angeles, and they'll practically fall to their knees thanking the Circle... That group of sorcerers that declared themselves protectors of man. But just how much of it all is really altruistic humanitarianism? Is there corruption amongst the guild that has sworn to take Man under its protective wing?
Characters are allowed to be sorcerers or regular humans. All live and work in Los Angeles, and must have some fighting ability.

The sky was overcast, the air cold. Were it not for Los Angeles' city lights, the night would be dark, and the fact that it wasn't annoyed the hell out of one Sebastian Cole. Normally, he preffered the light, the city bustle of a dreary L.A. day, but today darkness suited him more. His ragtop mustang growled down the city streets, its black paint perfect despite the grime of the city.
His cell phone rang, and he answered it. "Yo. ...Yeah, I've got it. Franklin? On my way." His driving didn't change at all, nor did his speed increase, but his eyes acquired a certain sense of determination. He took a right where he would have gone straight. Duty calls.
When he arrived at the "24" convenience mart, and parked his wheels, he opened the door of his mustang and stepped out. His black, short hair and deep green eyes pierced the darkness, stood out against the ersatz daylight cast by the streetlight and neon signs. His trenchcoat, immaculately clean, with sparkling chains across the back, covered his body. He looked around.
"Alright, who's there? I know someone is there."
